The Digit-al Dozen Does: Childhood - Look 2

I'm back with look #2 today and to be honest this one is a doozy. When I was in elementary school, my sister and I shared a room and we had matching peach and light blue floral comforters. This look was supposed to be inspired by that.

As you can see (or can't see...) since the peach was leaning neon it ate up the blue when I photographed it. I haven't ever had this happen before and I was sad to see that it did this. (Has this happened to anyone else before?)

I did take a picture with my phone which allows you to see the colors a little better:

This one was quite a disappointment in the pictures but was pretty and subtle in real life.

Hopefully the other girls rocked out their second Childhood looks a little better than I did!

The Digit-al Dozen Does: Childhood - Look 1

This month the ladies of the Digit-al Dozen are doing a Childhood theme. To be honest this one had me a bit nervous trying to come up with look inspired by my childhood, but let's see what I can come up with.

When I was growing up we lived in State College, PA which is where Penn State University is located, and that's what inspired this look.

I love these nails, they are super simple and seem to represent PSU pretty well. While I didn't go to Penn State myself after we moved when I was in High School, I do feel a connection to it.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Recreate a Member Mani - Look 2

Two looks in and am still loving this month's Nail Challenge Collaborative theme. My second look is inspired by Karine of Karine's Vernis Club. The look that inspired by re-creation was from the "Fall Harvest" theme (November 2012), you can check out her original HERE.

I love that Karine decided to do yellow roses for the Harvest theme. The look that I originally created for that one was a questionable looking turkey, lol. But like I said, I love that she decided to do something bright and cheery with the flowers in her look and I am loving how perfect these feel for me in the Springtime as well!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Recreate a Member Mani - Look 1

This month the girls of the Nail Challenge Collaborative are celebrating our 3rd Anniversary and in honor of that, we are re-creating some of our favorite looks that our fellow members have come up with in the past 3 years. I love this idea and think that I have been part of the group since the second theme (although they were seasonal back then and we weren't called the Nail Challenge Collaborative).

My first re-creation is based off of fellow Pittsburgh girl and founding member, Katee of A Girl and Her Polish. The look that I chose to re-create was from the theme "Spring Pastels" and you can see her original mani HERE.

I chose to re-create this with a slightly different color palette including two pinks instead of an orange and silver instead of gold. I love how this came out, just as cute as Katee's original if you ask me, and perfect for Easter/Springtime.

Today I am so excited to share with you my review of the China Glaze Electric Nights Collection!! I love that summer collections are coming out already because it gets me excited for the warmer weather that is hopefully on the way. Let's jump right in!

Whoa! There you have it the entire collection!

Onto my thoughts... first of all, my camera hates shooting neons and brights, I tried to take pictures outside but after the first swatch, it became cloudy and rainy all of a sudden so they were all indoors as usual. Thank you Pittsburgh weather, LOL.

I love bright colors for spring and summer and if you do too then this collection is perfect for you. Application and formula was really nice actually with these shades. Sometimes they can tend to be thin and streaky, but with two coats (how I have my color swatches) they seemed really self leveling and smooth. The glitters are really fun too, I have shown them over white but they would also look lovely over a plethora of colors.

If I had to change anything about this collection, I would have done a darker pink maybe and a purple based glitter and skipped out on one of the blues, but generally I think there are a bunch of pretty colors and everyone will be able to find one that they like.
