Zoya - Magical Pixies Summer 2014 - Swatches & Review

Today I have for the Zoya Magical Pixies Summer 2014 polishes!

All swatches are shown with two coats of color without topcoat
Bar: Nude Topaz Magical Pixie

This shade is pretty and is definitely more gold than the previous Pixie, Cosmo. I would consider this a neutral, that would be fine to wear to the office or to add a little glitter to a look without a crazy color.

Ginni: Pink Tourmaline Magical Pixie

This is a pretty pink shade, it's fairly sheer so you can still see a VNL with two coats, but I was OK with it. I'm a sucker for pink, what can I say?

Arlo: Violet Amethyst Magical Pixie

I really wish that they described this more as a Radiant Orchid shade, because that's the color that I view this as. However, despite the description, this was my favorite of the collection :)

So there you have it, the Magical Pixies Summer 2014 Collection.

You know my favorite, now tell me yours!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Skittles - Week 4

I'm getting this final look just in the nick of time with 1 day to spare in May. I had been wanting to do this mani since Skittles was announced as the theme for the month.

(P.S. I like the article that the image is from - not that I liked Lime but why'd they go changing it to green apple on us)

Literal Skittle Nails! Skittles are one of my favorite candies and I love all flavors of them, my all time most favorite are the tropical skittles that come in the sky blue bag. They don't sell them at all stores, so when I see them I always grab a pack for myself :-P

Polishes Used:
-Orly - White Tips
-Essie - Fishnet Stockings
-Zoya - Pippa
-Zoya - Josie
-Sinful Colors - Hazard
-Wet 'n Wild - Disturbia
-Konad - White
-Hard Candy - Matte-ly In Love

I thought that these nails came out fun and doubled checked with my husband before posting them to see if they were recognizable or not, he said they were so I thought that was good. I don't LOVE the "S"'s that I did, I am never good with curved lines / letting with my current nail art brush, but I think the idea is conveyed.

What do you think about this mani? What about the candy?

Check out what the other ladies did for their fourth and final Skittle Manis!

China Glaze - Off Shore Collection - Swatches & Review Part 2

Yesterday I showed you the first 6 polishes from the China Glaze Off Shore Collection and today I will be sharing you the second half of the collection.

All swatches shown with 2 coats of color plus topcoat
Sun Upon My Skin: Yellow crème

I have to love a good yellow cream polish, while this isn't really a "Pittsburgh Yellow" it's still a nice shade to have in my collection.

Be More Pacific: Light lime crème

This shade sort of reminds me of a mojito green polish. Slightly on the thinner side, but mostly self leveling.

Shore Enough: Green crème

I like this green cream; I didn't have anything like this in my collection before this. Slightly streaky, but a fairly nice self leveling formula.

Float On: neon pink crème

You know I love a good pink cream, and unlike some neon polishes, this one showed up pretty true to it's neon color in the pictures, which was nice.

Dune Our Thing: Dark neon berry crème

This polish is showing up a little lighter in the picture than in person, however, I love the berry-ness of this color. Perfect if you're looking for something slightly darker than the normal hot pinks of summer.

X-Ta-Sea: Dark neon eggplant crème

This is a bit of a darker shade for a summer collection, but I like it! It's nice to have options in a summer collection.

So there you have it, out of the second half of the collection, which is your favorite?

China Glaze® Off Shore will be available as individual colors, plus two 6-piece box collections “Stoked To Be Soaked” and “Dune Our Thing”. Individual polishes retail for $7.50 MSRP and the 6-piece box collections retail for $45 each.

And here's a final look at the entire 12 piece collection!

China Glaze - Off Shore Collection - Swatches & Review Part 1

You know that I have been loving all of the summer collections that have been coming out lately, and today I have the first half of the China Glaze Off Shore Collection to share with you.

All swatches are shown with two coats of color with topcoat
Feel The Breeze: Baby pink neon crème

I am a huge fan of pink cream polishes so I really liked this one. It was slightly thicker than the other polishes I am sharing with you today, but I would not classify this as a "thick" polish, and the color, love it! (I checked it against some of the shades from last summer's collection and it's a cross between Neon & On & On and Bottom's Up.

If In Doubt, Surf It Out: Mellow orange crème

This shade had a nice self leveling formula and application was nice and easy. I am not a huge fan of oranges as they remind me of fall and Halloween, but this is a nice shade.

Stoked To Be Soaked: Primary orange crème

The application of this shade was awesome as well. I do have to say I don't necessarily agree with the description from China Glaze; there is a an awesome sheer shimmer to the cream base of this shade which they didn't mention at all, extra surprise for me!

Sea's The Day: Rich red crème

This is one of my favorites of the collection. It's a nice red cream, but its a bright red, almost something neon but not exactly. Really like it and it had a nice formula as well.

Wait N' Sea: Aqua crème

Gotta love a nice blue shade for summer. This color was on the sheerer/thinner side, but as you can see, it's completely opaque in two coats. It reminds me of Sinful Colors Savage, but I think this is lighter (i'll have to do a comparison later)

I Sea The Point: Bright neon blue crème

Gosh, I love shades like this (although I don't wear them out too often I love having them on). This color had nice application, it did have a slight "blue polish" smell too it, which is to be expected sometimes; wonder what it is about the blue pigment...

Overall, I think part 1 of the collection is really pretty and since creams are my FAVORITE, this was a big hit. I like that the colors are bright colors and not 100% neons like some collections in the past. Everyone is really hitting it out of the park this year for summer collections.

Which of these shades is your favorite?

China Glaze® Off Shore is available as individual colors, plus two 6-piece box collections “Stoked To Be Soaked” and “Dune Our Thing”. Individual polishes retail for $7.50 MSRP and the 6-piece box collections retail for $45 each.

Stay tuned for Part 2 swatches and review coming soon!
