Morgan Taylor - Swatches & Review

Today I have 6 more Morgan Taylor shades to share with you! If you're a fan of pinks and berry shades then these are the polishes for you.

All swatches are shown with two coats of polish without topcoat

Sitting Pretty:

Sitting Pretty is a PRETTY shade of bright pink! Perfect for a summer look. It is similar to it's sister (which I'm sharing next) except Sitting Pretty is the cooler of the two.

Prettier In Pink:

As mentioned, this shade is very similar to the shade above; it's a tad brighter/lighter to me. Also a very nice bright pink for summer.

Hot Hot Tamale:

Love love love this shade! It's a bright coralish, pinkish red cream and the application was flawless.

Berry Perfection:

Who doesn't love a berry polish? I know I do, and this one applied nicely, this is two coats but three could have worked as well.

It's My Party:

This is one coat of It's My Party over Berry Perfection. IMP could definitely be built up and worn alone in two or three coats.

Who's That Girl?:

This was one of my favorites of the entire collection; the micro glitters and shimmers of this shade  were completely opaque in two coats!

So there you have it! Some fun and pretty pink and red shades and glitter toppers for summer! Which is your favorite?

    OPI - Casino Royale

Happy Friday! I took a vacation day from work so it's an extra happy Friday for me! LOL. I have a bunch of OPI swatches that I haven't posted so today I'll be sharing Casino Royale.

I am wearing two coats of Casino Royale in these pictures, the application and formula was of course flawless. It is really a gorgeous berry polish and I feel like although it's "darker", it is a shade that could be worn year round.

Short and sweet today; I hope you all have a great weekend!

Twinsie Tuesday: Nails Inspired by Beverage/Food

Welcome newest Twinsie Lisa! Lisa and I are in other challenge groups together so I'm looking forward to having her in the Twinsies!

This week's theme is Nails Inspired by Beverage/Food. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to create for this look, but then I remembered these cute Nail Art Stickers that I had received from Born Pretty Store.

    Polishes Used:
    -Orly - White Tips
-Morgan Taylor - Ahead of the Game
    -Precision Nail Lacquer - Enlightenment
    -Liquid Lacquer - Pink Lemonade

Ice Cream is one of my favorite summertime treats; just ask my husband, I'm begging him to take me for ice cream almost everyday lol. Since I am not sure great with my freehand painting skills these stickers were perfect. Also, I sort of touched on the beverage part of the theme as well since the glitter topper is called "Pink Lemonade".

A little more about these Nail Art Stickers. There are numerous designs on the sticker sheet which can lead to multiple types of manicures from just one sheet. You can do a simple accent nail like I did or something a little busier with the stickers on every nail. Born Pretty Store is great for all your Nail Art Supplies.

Let's see what other thirst quenching and delectable manicures that other Twinsie's created this week!

KB Shimmer - Nail Vinyl Decals

As I mentioned last week, KB Shimmer has released Nail Vinyl Decals with their Late Summer 2014 Collection release. Nail Decals are all the rage and today I will be sharing with you two different looks that I created with the decals.

Single Chevron V Nail Vinyl Decal:

    Zig Zag Nail Vinyl Decals:

Both of these style decals were really easy to use. I did the first look with a nude base the second with a polish base and you can see that both produced really crisp lines.

The instructions for use with these decals are very simple as well:

    1)         Apply nail polish and allow nails to dry. Wait longer then you think to assure no smudging occurs when vinyl decal is applied and removed. If desired, apply quick dry top coat to quicken dry time.
    2)       Peel away vinyl stencil from paper backing. Some designs may require ‘weeding’  (removal of excess components). Use a tweezers to help with small pieces.
    3)       Nail vinyl’s tend to be very sticky, apply to your hand first, remove, and apply to your hand one more time before placing on the nail. This allows your natural oils to reduce some of the strength of the adhesive.
    4)       Place stencil onto your nail in desired location and press firmly. Make sure all edges are firmly touching the nail on the nail so polish does not bleed under vinyl decal.
    5)       Apply a different color polish onto your nail and over the vinyl decal like a stencil.
    6)       While the polish is wet, remove the decal stencil. Wait no more then 15-20 seconds before removing, or the polish may pull up with the decal stencil.
    7)       Apply a clear top-coat to seal in the design.

I have two more patterns of Nail Vinyl Decals, including leave on decals, from KB Shimmer so stay tuned for another post of them.

NYC: Show Time Nail Art - Review

I recently received the 3 Show Time Nail Art polishes from NYC. (Original press release HERE) Stripping polishes have been some of my favorite for nail art for years so I was excited to try these out.

I recently saw THIS mani from Nailstorming and knew the Show Time Nail Art polishes were the perfect ones to use to re-create the look (with a couple different colors).

The colors in the collection are Black Ink, Pinkasso and Silverism and are all inspired by Brazil (perfect timing for World Cup!)

This Nailstorming look was easy to create with these polishes, as the brush is nice and thin (but not too thin)

These polishes are available at chain drugstores and mass merchandisers nationwide starting from June – September 2014. To find a retailer near you, please visit www.newyorkcolor.com

Do you love the look? Will you be picking up any of the Show Time Nail Art polishes?
