Press Release: Sally Hansen Goes Matte At Stella McCartney's Summer 2015 Fashion Show

SALLY HANSEN GOES MATTE AT STELLA McCARTNEY’S SUMMER 2015 FASHION SHOW

As the exclusive nail sponsor of Stella McCartney Collections in 2014, Sally Hansen hit the runway at Stella McCartney’s Summer 2015 fashion show during Paris Fashion Week. To accessorize the effortlessly elegant and fluid silhouettes in the designer’s collection, Sally Hansen’s Global Color Ambassador Madeline Poole created a coolly minimalist, nude manicure with a twist by giving flesh toned polish an unexpected matte finish.

Showing that understated colors can make a fashion statement, Poole paired Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat with flattering nude shades from the Complete Salon Manicure collection to give the glossy manicure a chic velvety matte look.

The idea for the matte nude nail came from referencing the true sheen of a natural nail,” says Madeline Poole. “As an unpainted nail is generally more satin or matte in finish, we were mimicking this surface. In the end, the result is dusty and bare like the cheek of a porcelain doll.

Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat transforms a glossy manicure of any color into a velvety matte for an edgy, unexpected finish. Containing a mattifying Silica agent, the formula brushes on glossy before instantly drying to a matte top sealant. The smooth top coat applies evenly and easily and dries with lightning speed without smudging nail art or other special effect nail polishes and can also be applied to bare nails for an extreme matte look with a silky finish.

THE STELLA MCCARTNEY SUMMER 2015 COLLECTION

Effortless movement and a fluid silhouette reflect the true spirit of summer, embracing a strong feminine attitude.
Utilitarian functionality with sailor trousers and wide culottes in shades of white, crème and vanilla. Washed cotton twill and linens provide texture and a feeling of age and character. Slightly over scaled buckles create toughness. Heavily stitched hemlines and gathered waists reflect work wear. Naïve markings are applied to add further depth onto the fabric.
A statement in denim plays on appliqué threadwork and a combination of asymmetrical circular shapes and cutaway side paneling. A washed ribbed knit dyed in indigo creates the illusion of denim.
Knitwear is bold and sensual, made of organic yarn in butter with polished hardware details; knotted and twisted, exposing skin in movement. A shiny and matte knit of different rib proportions is chopped and sculptured in asymmetrical silhouettes in powder, ciel and butter shades, accessorized with oversized non-PVC necklace chains.
Check print is applied on layers of billowing silk dresses and ultra -light trench coats. Embracing a worn effect, silk crepe de chine jacquard and silk satin voile in gentle pastels reveal skin and layers underneath the tunnel work, gathered at the waist in a depth of luxurious washed fabric.
Evening captures the energy and exuberance of summer. An eclectic mix of patterns and prints in delicate organza are sewn into a jigsaw of suspended hand-embroideries, creating windows through the body.
Shoes feature soft knots and fluid lines, contrasted with a graphic mirror finish. A new mid heel wedge in sustainable Alter Nappa is naturally confident and sexy. Knotted flats and soft lacing. Bags echo the collection, in cotton scuba and Alter Nappa. A cylinder clutch in ciel and patchworked embroidered clutches in butter and navy.
