The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Inspired by a Book - Look 4

I'm really sneaking this look in at the last second. I hated that I didn't complete all the looks last month and was determined that I wouldn't let that happen again this month. For this look I found a kind of weird/neat book cover and decided to re-create that. The book is Retro-Futurism by TR Hinchcliffe. I don't know anything about this book but just liked the look of it.

And here is my look:

Polishes Used:
-Nails Inc - William Mews
-Rica - Whiteout
-KB Shimmer Eclipse
-Misc Red/Yellow/Green

This look didn't exactly turn out how I expected, but it did re-confirm for me that freehand isn't really my thing. LOL. I need to stick to stamping, striping tape and plain dots. LOL. I don't think it's that bad though so I'll give it an "OK" rating.

I bet the other ladies finished up this month with a bang, so let's take a look!

Philly Loves Lacquer - Coffee Shop Till You Drop 2014 Collection

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Today I have a shopping madness weekend collection from Philly Loves Lacquer called Coffee Shop Till You Drop 2014 Collection. This is the second year that Esther is putting together a shopping madness weekend collection. This collection consists of 4 gorgeous polish shades inspired by the crazy madness of shopping today and this weekend. I personally cannot participate in the shopping madness because I hate crowds and even thinking about Black Friday crowds makes me feel a little anxious lol. Let's get started!

I'm Not Awake Enough For This Shit: A rosy taupe linear holo

That Elsa Doll Is Mine!: A bright wintery blue from the depths of Frozen (hell), with a pink micro-shimmer, silver holo micro-glitter, and some linear holo thrown in for good measure.

Don't Cut The Line Bro: A deep blackened purple with a very subtle shift and strong linear holo

6PM Thanksgiving Coffee Run: An offspring of it's older brother 2AM Coffee Run, a deep dark brown with a bit of a golden flash, sparkling taupe micro-flakies, and linear holo.

Isn't this a lovely collection? In addition to the gorgeous colors, I just can't get over how fun and creative the polish names are; I love seeing what Esther of Philly Loves Lacquer comes up with next!

A little more about this collection:
This set will be available early in the morning on November 28th through December 1st, as mini bottles only, for $18+SH. Beginning December 2nd, the price will go back up to $24 for the set, and then after the first of the year, they will be available individually in both mini and full size.

Will you be picking up any of these shades today during your Black Friday shopping?

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Inspired by a Book - Look 3

I'm back with my third November Nail Challenge Collaborative look. This time, I was inspired by The Great Gatsby and the black and gold lavish feel of the parties that Gatsby threw in the book.

Polishes Used:
-Maybelline - Bold Gold
-KB Shimmer - Eclipse

I used striping tape and decals to create this cutout look. I loved the feel of this look and the gold popping through the black felt sort of dramatic.

Let's see what books inspired the other NCC ladies 3rd looks!

Twinsie Tuesday: Mani Orders from a Friend

This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is Mani Orders from your Significant Other / Family Member / BFF / etc.; seeing as it's me, my husband, and dog who live at home, my husband got the lucky job of giving me my mani orders. I have to say he was not super interested in participating and after guilting him into it, he said, "do a mani inspired by Orange Is The New Black - orange nails with black stripes for prison bars". I think I mentioned before that we had been catching up on our Netflix after Pirate season was over, and we binge watched OITNB in October, so I wasn't completely surprised by his request.

Polishes Used:
-Barielle - Fire Me Up
-KBShimmer - Eclipse

Well, I showed him the look after I was done and he was not a fan. HAHA. He said, "Ummm I said orange with black stripes; not what you did." To me, this looks like a Halloween look, which I sort of hate, so basically although the execution of the look was completely fine, neither of us were happy with it. LOL. Soooo, this will probably be the last time he gets to be involved in providing "mani orders".

I am looking forward to seeing what the other ladies were "ordered" to do by their friends and families!

Rica - Ecopolo 2014

Earlier this fall I created a striped tape look for a fall nail art challenge for one of my Facebook groups. The look "won" it it's category and so I was sent this awesome prize from Ricarda of Rica.

I think that this shade was included as part of a boxed collection that Rica collaborated on earlier this fall, if not this exact shade, one very similar. It's a lovely blurple thermal polish with glitters of all shapes, sizes and colors. I am always cold but in the pictures (and now that I have longer nails) you can sort of see the color shift; I look forward to trying out more thermals now that my nails are longer too.

What do you think of this shade? Loving it as much as I am?
