Sation - Pyramid Princess

On Monday, I picked up a couple polishes from my local Marshalls. They finally had Station polishes at my store and I was excited because I hadn't tried any yet, so I picked up Pyramid Princess.

And here it is!

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Ulta - High Roller
-Sation - Pyramid Princess
-Gelous
-OTD

Pyramid Princess is an amazing glitter bomb containing silver, gold/yellow, black, blue and pink glitters. I loved the awesome glitter-ness of this polish and the pops of color really add the extra kick. I am wearing it over High Roller, but I almost didn't need to.

Isn't this color gorgeous?! Do you own any Sation polishes? What is your favorite?

Winter Challenge Sneak Peek - AKA Let It Snow! Challenge

I mentioned last Saturday was the final theme of the Fall Into Autumn Challenge but that there would be a Winter Challenge soon. This post is a sneak peek into that and into the ladies that will be participating with me.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative is the amazing group of girls that have been participating in these season themed challenges with me and it has been so fun getting to know them all. We decided to put an official name together and badge for our group instead of re-naming ourselves each season, so we decided on The Nail Challenge Collaborative.

Isn't that a cute badge? The lovely Katee from A Girl and Her Polish created it.

So here is are the themes for the Let It Snow Challenge! This will start on December 1st and, as always, is a go at your own pace challenge, although the themes are lined up with the holidays so that you should be dead on if you do one per week.

And finally, here is a list of the other lovely ladies that I will be participating in this challenge with! Make sure you check out their blogs as well if you haven't already.

Lilac Jelly Sammich

I am finally back to work today, which is good; I was getting cabin fever at home but somehow also managed to spend lots of $$. Darn you cyber Monday!!! hehe.

Today I am wearing a soft and pretty combo. It's sort of wintery, but in a calm way.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Essie - Bangle Jangle
-OPI - Pirouette My Whistle
-OPI - Care to Danse?
-OTD

It's not a true jelly sandwich because I used an opaque base but that's ok; the top portion of this mani is.

Short and sweet today :) Hope you're all having a good week!!

Ulta - Broken and Blue

Hello Lovelies!

Today I am showing you one of my un-trieds, Ulta Broken and Blue. This is a really pretty shade and I am slightly disappointed that I haven't used this before today.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Sinful Colors - Slate
-Ulta - Broken and Blue
-Gelous
-OTD

This polish is jam packed full of glitters. I put slate on under this polish but didn't need to. The glitter itself was completely opaque in 2 coats. This is a perfect polish for the holidays; it is dark, but shimmery and glittery as well. Just a very lovely simple polish that everyone should have :)

Do you own this shade or any other glitters from Ulta? Which is your favorite?

Fall Into Autumn Challenge - Fall Flair

Today is the last day of the Fall Into Autumn Challenge :( Fear not, there will be a fun winter challenge coming up so obviously, I will be participating in that! I really love this group of ladies that I am participating with, we are so diverse, from where we live, to skill levels, to even nail shape. It's wonderful to me to see what creative ideas everyone comes up with for the themes.

So onto my fall flair:

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Ulta - High Roller (Pinky)
-Sinful Colors - Snow Me White (Ring)
-Claire's - Orange (Middle)
-Essie - Size Matters (Pointer)
-Essence - High Spirits (Pointer)
-Essence - Time For Romance (Ring / Pointer)
-Sinful Colors - Hazard (Pointer)
-Zoya - Pippa (Pointer)
-Finger Paints - Caric-Art-Ure (Ring)
-Sinful Colors - Sunny Day (Ring)
-Liquid Laquer - You Give Me Favor (Pinky)
-OTD

Since it was the last day of this challenge, I decided to do a little bit of everything, with some Fall Flair Skittles. All of these nails feel like fall to me. and I will definitely be doing some of these designs on their own too (ring finger....)

I am looking forward to the Winter Challenge, I prefer the winter season to fall season just because I feel like it encompasses a lot more, Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years, Valentines Day, etc.  Although I don't love the winter clothing. In Pittsburgh we are lucky enough to experience all the seasons; I like spring and summer the best; what is your favorite season?

Black Friday Mannequin Hands Mani

I am not one to participate in Black Friday shopping spree activities. I HATE crowds when I am shopping so clearly today is not the day for me to be out at the stores. However, in honor of Black Friday, I am doing a neutral mani, also known as "Mannequin Hands Mani". (You know, for the mannequins in the clothing stores that you're shopping at today)

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-RGB - no name polish
-Essie - As Gold As It Gets
-OTD

This is simple and neutral with a little shimmer. Very simple. I am always un-decided on these manis; don't know if I like them or not, but using a "clean slate" for a day is always good.

Did you get any good deals today?

Happy Thanksgiving with Orly - Rock It

Hope that everyone is having a Happy Thanksgiving. Since I already did a Harvest mani last week, I wasn't in the mood for doing another turkey themed mani so today I am showing you a very pretty shimmery red that fits with the season. (This is the nail polish that I was wearing yesterday, so don't mind the tip wear)

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Orly - Rock It
-OTD

This is a very pretty shimmery red; in the bottle it has a orange shimmer as well, but that doesn't show up on the nail. I talked to some other girls about this and they said that the same thing happened to them. Weird. But still is still a very pretty color.

Happy Thanksgiving!

BPS: Sexy Chocolate Color Shimmer Nail Polish Review

Today I have another polish for review from Born Pretty Store. I really like their selection of nail polish and nail art supplies so I had a hard time picking what I wanted to review. I finally decided on "Sexy Chocolate Color Shimmer Nail Polish". Here is the link: http://www.bornprettystore.com/sexy-chocolate-color-shimmer-nail-polish-glitter-nail-p-1054.html

The above picture is from their website, but my bottle shape was a little different which you can tell from my photos. Also, I have two sets of photos today, the first without topcoat, the second with, so enjoy!

It's neat how adding a topcoat to this polish adds a different dimension to the mani; both are pretty though!

Pros:
-Purchased from Born Pretty Store - so FREE SHIPPING
-Completely Opaque in 1 coat (although I am wearing 2)
-Comes in more than 10 other colors!

Cons:
-There is a strong "paint" smell with this polish

Born Pretty Store, has tons of accessories and supplies for all your nail art needs; and in addition to their always free shipping, they are giving my lovely readers 10% off all orders with the following coupon code, so make sure to check it out!

This polish was provided by BPS for my honest review. The opinions are solely my own.

Liquid Lacquer - Kisses for St. Nick

A while ago Melissa put up a super cute mini set of holiday polishes. I had originally purchased them as a gift, but sitting there by my other polishes, I ended up opening up Kisses for St. Nick.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Liquid Lacquer - Kisses for St. Nick
-Gelous
-OTD

So, yeah, Liquid Lacquer has quickly become one of my favorite indie polishes and I own more of Melissa's polishes than any other indie brand. And as well all know, I LOVE white jelly bases; and with the red and green glitters, this is just perfect for the holidays. I don't know if Melissa will be restocking this polish because she already sold out, but make sure to keep up with her Etsy Shop in case they come up!

Mary Kay - Tempting Teal

Back to work! For most of us in the USA, it is probably a short work week due to Thanksgiving, yay!

I was recently contacted by Melva, one of my readers who sells Mary Kay to see if I would like to do a review of one of their limited edition holiday polishes. Of course, I said yes, and selected Tempting Teal.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Mary Kay - Tempting Teal (2 coats)
-OTD

Here is the festive bottle and packaging that it came in:

I love the red cap and the bottle shape. I used 2 coats of Tempting Teal for my pictures, although it was actually completely opaque in 1 coat! The brush and polish had very good application with no problems and wasn't streaky at all. Although this is called "teal" it looks a little bit "bluer" than what I consider teal, but that's OK; it's a gorgeous color for the upcoming holidays!

You can find this polish along with the rest of the Mary Kay skin and beauty line here on Melva's site.
