The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Untrieds - Week 4

TGIF! I am back with my final look for this month's Nail Challenge Collaborative theme, Untrieds; and I think this is my favorite of all the looks!

 

Polishes Used:
-Nails Inc. - William Mews (this was my untried)
-OPI - Alpine Snow
-OPI - My Vampire is Buff
-OPI - My Very First Knockwurst

The Nails Inc. was my untried shade in this look (obviously); and its a shade I picked up at Sephora earlier this year with a gift card that I got for Christmas. It is a pretty sky blue shade that had complete coverage in two coats. I love how the pastels in the waterfall contrast with the pretty cream!

Blue Babyshower Waterfall Mani

Today I went to the baby shower of my best friend from High School. We have been friends for 13 years now and even though she lives a couple states away, whenever she comes back to visit her family, we pick up as if she never left. Don't you love friends like that?

As I mentioned, today was her babyshower for her first baby, a boy whom they will be naming Levi; I can't wait for him to arrive. Unfortunately I had the time wrong in my phone for the shower so I arrived a little late. Thankfully, I only missed the "mingling" at the beginning and a few little games but made it for everything else.

Anyway, I wanted to do something cute with my nails so I went to my favorite easy mani, waterfall mani, in a combination of blues for baby Levi.

-OPI - Alpine Snow
-China Glaze - Man Hunt
-China Glaze - Electric Beat
-Kiss - Soft Blue
-Revlon - Radiant
-Hard Candy - Matte-ly In Love

I started with my white base, added the blue stripes, and topped those off with random stripes of the glitters in Radiant. I love how glitters look mattified and I think that this look is great. I got a couple compliments on these nails at the shower too so that's always nice.

Work Appropriate Waterfall Mani

Happy Monday!!!

Since it is the first day back into my work week; today I am going to share with you a neutral, work appropriate waterfall mani that I wore last week!

Isn't this lovely!? I got a ton of compliments on it at the office and one of my colleagues even said I should get my nail license because she would pay to have me do her nails. I love getting compliments like that; so sweet! Anyway, I am still loving the waterfall mani because they are just so easy but look so pretty and complex; and the color combinations are endless.

Another Waterfall Mani

Today I have another waterfall mani that I did earlier this week to share with you :)

-OPI - Nail Envy
-Essie - Angora Cardi
-Kiss - Silver
-Kiss - Black
-Kiss - White
-Out The Door

I did 3 accent nails here; 2 regular waterfall nails, and 1 reverse waterfall. (It sounds like some gymnastic move or something, "the reverse waterfall" lol). Also, can they still be called accent nails when I have 3 of them? lol. Anyway I thought I would switch things up but doing a little of each. I got a lot of compliments when I wore this to work and what I like most is that they are super easy to create. Definitely expect to see more of them in the future here on the blog!

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

Yes! Finally back on track and able to participate in the July Tri-Polish Challenge. This month's colors are Blue, Blue and Green. I knew exactly what shades I was going to use, my trusty go to shades.

R-L: Sally Hansen - Parrot, Sally Hansen - Pacific Blue, Finger Paints - Blue Raspberry Taffy

I seriously seem to gravitate to these shades for nail art challenges because they are all nice opaque creams which is just what I want in a color challenge mani.

I also knew exactly what technique I wanted to try; something that has been huge lately, and you will probably see some other mani's inspired by.... Sammy's (The Nailasaurus)Waterfall mani! You can check out her tutorial HERE! Mine isn't exactly the same but I am pretty happy with it!

This is such an easy mani to create and a really fun look. I simply used a nail art brush and added the stripes. In addition to my blues and green that you saw above, I also used it over a white base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and added some silver glittery lines with Kiss Silver Glitter.
