KBShimmer: The Summer Collection - Glitters

*Press Sample

Happy Wednesday! Today I am back to share with you 3 of the glitter polishes from the KBShimmer Summer Collection.

Shell Shock: "A peach leaning tan polish with holographic gold glitter, magenta glitter, and copper glitters"

Home Surf: "A muted teal cruelly with silver holographic glitters in several sizes"

Wave The Flag: "A patriotic glitter topper with red, white & blue matte glitters and tiny white stars"

Shell Shock and Home Surf are shown in two thicker coats, as you can see, they have great coverage. Wave The Flag is shown in one coat over a base of Precision Lacquer On Cloud 9.

Since I didn't post an official release for Part 2 (the Glitters) I will list the other shades out below. I think that the glitters have a really great mix of colors and finishes so everyone will be able to find one, two or nine that they like :)

Alloy Mattey!: "Our most bling silver polish yet, packed with micro and fine holographic glitters!"
Vitamin Sea: "An aqua jelly polish with pink, silver and micro holographic glitters."
What Are You Wading For?: "A deeper toned periwinkle linear holo polish with indigo blue shimmer."
Pink-a Colada: "A violet leaning pink crelly polish with holographic glitters in lime green, light blue & pink."
Sun & Games: "A gold holographic polish packed with micro fine glitters for a sunny full coverage look."
We Be Jammin': "A bright magenta with blue shimmer and micro holographic sparkle."

All of these shades will be available for purchase at KBShimmer.com (US) and harloandco.org (International) on May 15th.

Which of these shades do you think you'll pick up for yourself?

KBShimmer: The Summer Collection - Creams

*Press Sample

KBShimmer is launching their Summer Collection in May and this week I'll be showing you a handful of polishes from the collection. Today's post will feature 3 of the cream shades, so let's begin.

Rum Me The Right Way: "A shocking yellow cream and the perfect swap for nude"

Bahama Drama: "A near neon deep peach cream"

Lei It Again: "An electric pink cream"

All of these swathes are shown with 2 coats of color over natural nails (no white base). I loved how bright and summery these shades were without being overtly neon. The application was nice and I found that all self leveled and had full coverage in 2 coats. (Please note that I generally use thicker coats so if you use thin coats, some of these may require 3).

I like all of these for summer! You can purchase them at kbshimmer.com starting on May 15th. For those outside of the US, you can purchase at harlowandco.org.

Will you be picking up any of these 3 or the other creams from the collection?

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Recreate a Member Mani - Look 4

Whoohoo, I am actually finishing up a little early this month with my Nail Challenge Collaborative posts. I think it's because I loved looking through the other ladies looks and picking which to re-create.

My fourth and final look was inspired by Marissa over at Hey, Darling Polish! I loved the super unique look that she created in December 2014 for the Dots theme! Check out her original here.

Polishes Used:
-Essence - Off to Miami!
-KBShimmer - Eyes White Open
-KBShimmer - Eclipse

I love Marissa's original better, but I still thought that my re-creation was fun and funky as well.

This month was really fun, and I can't wait to see how the other ladies wrapped it up with their final re-creations!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Recreate a Member Mani - Look 3

Today I am back with my third Nail Challenge Collaborative look for April. This look was inspired by Victoria (Manicurator) that she created for Holiday Ornament Nails for the Let It Snow Challenge. Take a look at her original here.

Products Used:
-NOPI - Be AMA-Zing
-Born Pretty Store glequins

I switched up the colors on this look from when Victoria originally used in hers and spaced out the glitters a bit more, but I still loved how fun and super sparkly this look was when I was wearing it. It was actually super sunny on the day that I created these so I took a quick video outside that I may post of Instagram later today.

Let's see which previous looks inspired the rest of the NCC girls third manicures!

The Digit-al Dozen Does: Childhood - Look 5

Sorry I am a day late with Look #5! I have been in and out of commission this week with a stomach bug and ear infection, but it looks like I am on the mend.

When I was growing up one of my favorite characters was Raggedy Ann. I had Raggedy Ann dolls, sleeping bags, and even dressed up as Raggedy Ann one Halloween. This week's look is inspired by that!

Polishes Used:
-KBShimmer - Eyes White Open
-KBShimmer - Eclipse
-Barille - Tres Chic
-Zoya - Livingston
-Zoya - Chantal
-Morgan Taylor - Lip Service

You know that freehand isn't exactly my forte, so in this case for the face I followed a super easy tutorial from Jacki over at Adventures in Acetone from when she created Raggedy Ann nails last year for another DD theme!

I thought that this look came out really cute and I actually like the floral pattern a lot and will probably do another mani with that in other color combos all on it's own.

Just for fun here are two Raggedy Ann themed pictures from my Childhood :)

Let's see how the other ladies finished up the week!

The Digit-al Dozen Does: Childhood - Look 4

My forth Digit-al Dozen Childhood look is based on one of my favorite memories from growing up; polishing my nails with my mom. I remember us sitting at our kitchen table and her painting my nails with some old Avon polishes. My mom's mom was an Avon Lady and we always had those polishes around our house. These were the old ones, from like the 80s, they had a very distinctive smell that older polishes had. (do you know what I mean?) Every time that I smell polishes like that now, I still think of those times that I had with my mom growing up.

Even now when I go to visit my parents, sometimes my mom asks me to paint her nails or toes :)

Polishes Used:
-OPI - I Knead Sourdough
-OPI - Casino Royale

For the base of this look I used a couple colors that reminded me of the older Avon shades that we had growing up and bended them with a saran wrap technique. Next, I stamped with my Bundle Monster plate nail polish bottles and "Keep Calm and Polish On"; although you can see how awesome (or not) my lining up of stamping images is with that accent nail... we will just call that one artistic :-P

Was painting your nails as a child of one your childhood memories, or did you guys get into nails later on in life?

The Digit-al Dozen Does: Childhood - Look 3

One activity that I did from the time that I was little through middle school was dance, specifically ballet. Today's look is inspired by Ballet Slippers!

Polishes Used:
-Morgan Taylor - One and Only
-Morgan Taylor - Lip Service

This look was super easy and simple to create and the colors are almost monochromatic so it gives it a subtle feel too! All I did to create this was freehand the pink ballet slippers onto the nails, and voila!

I bet some of the other ladies did dance when they were growing up, what about you?
