Twinsie Tuesday: Pick a past TT theme you especially loved/hated or had to miss, and redo it

This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "pick a past Twinsie Tuesday theme you especially loved/hated or had to miss, and redo it". Phew, that's a mouthful. So for this week I decided to take a look at some of the previous themes that the Twinsie's did before I joined, and decided to re-create a cloud mani!

Polishes Used:
-Orly - White Tips
-China Glaze - For Audrey
-China Glaze - Man Hunt
-Rica - Glossy Glam

I went with a simple cloud mani for this look in a nice cool toned color palette. "Cloud" mani's were one of the this nail art looks that I ever tried when I got into nail art and it's nice to know you can go back to something like this for a simple easy to create look.

Check out what other looks the ladies decided to re-create this week!

Falling For Nail Art Challenge: Cloudy Skies

Today's theme in the Falling for Nail Art Challenge is Cloudy Skies. Usually in Pittsburgh every fall day (and winter day, and spring day...) is cloudy but this season has been unusually sunny (aka not cloudy every day)

I knew I wanted to do something blue and gray for this look and this that the mani I created captures the theme perfectly.

Polished Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-China Glaze - Electric Beat
-Sinful Colors - Slate
-Konad - White
-MASH Plate 37
-Hard Candy - Matte-ly In Love

I started with the blue base of Electric Beat and added the gray Slate with the saran wrap technique. Once that dried, I stamped on the white clouds. Since cloudy days aren't normally shiny, I mattified this look and think it looks perfect like that.

Like I mentioned, this really captured what I was envisioning in my mind, what do you think? Does it look like a cloudy sky to you?

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

Welcome to the second August Tri-Polish Challenge mani. I am still not a fan of the colors so I am feeling less than inspired. Therefore, I went with a simple look.

I used the yellow (Color Club - Almost Famous) and red (OPI - On Collins Ave) for this mani. I also added in a little bit of Sally Hansen - White On and a top coat of Northern Lights. What do you think of this mani? I still can't get on board with the color scheme.

White Mani for Peace and Non-Violence

Today you will be getting two posts from me. This one and my regularly scheduled post. In light of the horrible tragedy that occurred yesterday in Connecticut, a number of bloggers are posting their white manis.

No extra commentary needed; just take this time to remember the children and adults who lost their lives and the family members who lost a child, parent, friend.

Fall Into Autumn Challenge - Cloudy Days

Aren't you just loving the Fall Into Autumn Challenge series?! I am!

Today's theme is Cloudy Days; this is something that I am very familiar with living in Pittsburgh. There are for sure, without a doubt, definitely more cloudy days in the 'burgh than there are Sunny Days. I knew exactly what I wanted to do; something similar to my Summer Nights / Northern Lights mani (from the Lazy Days of Summer)

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-NYC - Sidewalkers
-Sinful Colors - Slate
-Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
-Sinful Colors - Morning Star
-NYC - Matte Me Crazy

I started off with the grey base and sponged on "random" dark grey, white, blue, and more white polish to get the billowing cloud effects; do you see it? I love it. lol.

What do you think? Do you see Cloudy Days in this?

Check out the other ladies participating in Fall Into Autumn :)

Fourth of July Nails!

Happy Fourth of July! Today is Independence Day which means a day off of work, picnics, and fireworks. I decided to so with a simple red, white and blue cloud mani.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Sally Hansen - Pacific Blue
-Essie - First Dance
-Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
-Out The Door - TopCoat

I got a lot of compliments on this mani so far, I think it's fun for the 4th and I have seen a ton of awesome patriotic mani's in the last week. Everyone is so creative!

Are you doing anything for the Fourth of July?
