Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Winter Collection - Swatches & Review

Happy New Year's Eve!! I can't believe tomorrow will be 2014!

Today I have something super special to share with you, 4 lovely shades from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Winter Collection! This collection will be available for sale starting tomorrow, at 3:00pm EST, so eye up your favorites today!

Tacky Winter Sweater: A light pink based polish with sapphire hexes, holo violet hexes, and holo bright pink hexes, diamonds, and dots, purple iridescent hexes and light pink snowflakes. Can be layered over undies or built up to opacity in three coats.

Two Coats Shown

Snowfall at Dusk: A periwinkle based polish with various shades of blue hexes, squares, and dots, blue-green iridescent hexes, and large white snowflakes. Can be layered over undies or built up to opacity in three coats. The snowflakes can be a bit of a pain to get out of the bottle, so it's recommended to turn the bottle upside down a bit before application.

Two Coats Shown

Plum Tired of the Cold: A blackened plum shimmer base packed with gold micro hexes, red hexes, diamonds, and circle glitters, wine and burgundy hexes, and black hexes and holo dots.

Two Coats Shown

<3: <3 was the apology polish that Julie sent to all of the individuals who pre-ordered polishes from the Winter Collection and who had to wait for their orders to ship. It is a nude jelly with rainbow iridescent glitters and micro and small sizes.

Overall, I really like the polishes that I swatched in this collection. They feel really unique and aren't just plain glitter toppers or mixes that I already have in my collection, which is a big plus for me; sometimes I feel like there are only so many combinations out there, but Julie has done a great job creating this collection with pretty and unique shades. The application of the polish was nice as well, as with all larger/shaped glitters, a little fishing was required for the big snowflakes, but it wasn't anything unusual. Finally, I think it was very sweet of Julie to create the <3 shade as an extra for those who pre-ordered and have been patiently waiting the arrival of the collection.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Inspired by Art - Week 4

December is almost over and it's time to share with you my fourth and final "Inspired By Art" Challenge mani. I saw this look on Pinterest and really liked it, I loved the colors together and simple geometric pattern.

This is my art inspiration:

And here is my nail art:

Polishes Used:
-OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls
-Zoya - Pippa
-OPI - My Vampire Is Buff
-Out The Door

I didn't go for an exact recreation, and switched up the direction of the yellow and white lines. I really love how my interpretation of the piece came out, my only disappointment was that without thinking ahead, I used red striping tape to get the crisp lines and then a little of the red shade bled onto the other colors once I had taken it off.

All in all, I think that this "Inspired by Art" theme was a success and I enjoyed participating in it with the other ladies, I know it was hard for some of them but I'm glad for those who gave it a shot (including myself!)

Crumpet's Nail Tarts Christmas Winter Challenge - New Year's Eve

Happy Sunday! I can't believe the Crumpet's Nail Tart Christmas Winter Challenge has come to an end. Today is the last theme; New Year's Eve!

Although today is not New Year's Eve, this is always a fun theme to play around with. Here is my look!

Polishes Used:
-Orly - Androgynie
-Maybelline - Bold Gold
-Hard Candy - Matte-ly In Love
-Cheeky Jumbo Plate 6 - Happy Holidays

A lot of people end up wearing a Little Black Dress on NYE and gold glittery accents, and I feel that this champagne /  bubbly look would be the perfect accent to compliment the LBD. I love how Androgynie looks mattified, the gold shimmers in the base with the translucent glitters really pop once matte.

This Challenge has been fun and although I didn't complete every theme (Toys & Christmas Food) I still enjoyed participating during the Holidays. Don't forget to check out what all the other ladies did for their NYE manis!

Dear Rus Sandstone Collection - Swatches & Review

Today will be sharing with you 3 lovely shades from the Dear Rus Sandstone Collection that I received from Llarowe.

I'll go through the pictures and then give you my thoughts!

Sandstone: Magenta base with holographic multi sized glitter

Sandstone 08: Pink jelly base with holographic multi sized glitter

Sandstone 37: Gold base with holographic multi sized glitter

My overall thoughts!

I really like these polishes. They are fun and jam-packed with glitters. I am wearing two coats in each picture and as you can see they are 100% complete coverage shades. The pictures that I have don't do the glitters justice; they are soooo sparkly in person; these would all be great shades to wear while watching the ball drop on New Years Eve!

Remember that you can pick up these and other Sandstone shades at Llarowe.

Dear Rus New Matte Collection - Swatches & Review

I hope that everyone had a lovely holiday. Today I am sharing 5 polishes from the Dear Rus New Matte Collection that I recently received from Llarowe.

Let me show you the pictures and then give you my thoughts!

New Matte 5: Fluorescent higlighter yellow matte

New Matte 16: Fluorescent bright green matte

New Matte 17: Fluorescent yellow green matte

New Matte 11: Bubble gum pink matte

New Matte 13: Light pinky lilac matte

Onto my overall thoughts!
I REALLY was surprised by some of these shades, the yellow and greens were shades I didn't think I would be impressed by, but I actually love them! Especially, #16!! As with true neons, the yellow and green dry matte and the pinks dry matte as well, but it was a softer matte. When I got the pinks I was a little disappointed at first, I feared that I got 2 of the same shade, and even when I swatched them on my nail wheel, they looked the same, but as you can see from the pictures, they aren't the same and aren't even dupes!

If you are interested in any of these shades, make sure you check out Llarowe and get them on order (I think they are all currently in stock!)
