Liquid Lacquer - The Dream Chasing Collection - Part 1

Happy Sunday! Today I have a super special treat for you!!! I am going to show you the upcoming collection from Liquid Lacquer - The Dream Chasing Collection! This collection will be up for sale on February 1st!

From top left to right, Handful of Dust, My Renaissance, A Calm Does Not Suit Me, and Only I Remain

Talking with Melissa, this collection was inspired by things that are meaningful to her. What I really love about it is that each polish is named after a quotation that has a meaning to Melissa which makes it even more special in my opinion.

Today I will be showing you swatches of "A Calm Does Not Suit Me" and "My Renaissance". Tomorrow you will get to see "Only I Remain" and "Handful of Dust".

Now, onto the pretties!

A Calm Does Not Suit Me:
"A was born for a storm. A calm does not suit me." ~Andrew Jackson

Melissa describes this polish as, "a white crelly with navy and periwinkle glitter. Subtle, yet strong". I have on three coats here topped with one coat of gelous and quick dry TC.

This polish had a great application, I was able to get all the pretty glitters out without any fishing and they were nicely distributed on my nails. You all know I am a sucker for white crelly polishes so I am in extreme love with this polish.

My Renaissance:
"We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty." ~Maya Angelou

This is a super pretty light pink/purple polish with subtle blue shimmer. It has glitters in pink, yellow, silver, and blue in all shapes and sizes, even circle glitters which are all the rave! I have one two coats of polish, with a coat of gelous and quick try TC.

Just like the last polish, this shade had great application and no trouble getting any glitters out.

Stay tuned for the remaining polishes tomorrow, but make sure that you check out Liquid Lacquer's facebook page so you can stay up to date with all her upcoming releases. Also, she has switched from selling on Etsy to selling on Big Cartel

Baby Shower Nails

This week's Let It Snow! Challenge is going to be a little late, today I am going to my cousin and his wife's baby shower; and did some fun baby shower nails for it that I wanted to show you.

This mani didn't turn out exactly how I had hoped, but overall I am pleased with it!

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Sinful Colors - Morning Star
-Konad - Special Blue
-BM Plate - 310

I had originally planned on using the baby bottle image from Plate 307 but it wasn't picking up so I went with the gender symbol stamp instead. We already know they will be having a boy (baby Luca) hence my blue on blue color theme. I think that this is really cute and the shimmer in Morning Star adds a little something.

On another note, I got a new camera lens this week and this is my first post using it / trying it out. I am still working out all the settings and playing with which ones will give me the best pictures, but will still let me use my lightbox (I like my "soft/warm" feeling photos from the lightbox). So please bear with me for a while while I get it figured out. :)

Leopard Accent Nail!

We are on the back-end of the workweek. Whoohoo!

I have really been in the mood to use my China Glaze "I'm Not Lion" again so I decided to do something fun with an leopard accent nail. Here we go!

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-China Glaze - I'm Not Lion
-OPI
-Essence - Black is Back
-Gelous
-OTD

I really like this look! It's fun and sparkly and a little sexy with the red accent. :) Unfortunately I don't know the name of the red, I got it as part of a mini set of OPI's but threw away the box and you know how they don't put the names of the colors on their minis..... Anyway, I love this, and if you're looking for something that may be fun for Valentine's Day, something along these lines could be a great choice!

My giveaway will be closing next week, don't forget to ENTER HERE!!

Super Late - AIS - Accent Nail

Hope all my lovelies are having a good week! So this week's Adventures In Stamping theme was "Accent Nail". I did this mani on Saturday to prepare for Sunday's challenge but other things came up and I never got around to posting these until now.

I have started getting into the Valentine's Day spirit so in the coming weeks I am sure that you will being seeing more sweet, love, and heart type posts. <3

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Essie - Merino Cool
-Sally Hansen - White On
-Stamp: BM-317

For this AIS mani I decided to stick to two images from the same plate. It does seem like sort of a lot going on here. But it's fun and I like it.

Here are some shots of Merino Cool all by its beautiful self:

Merino Cool is very pretty on its own and for anyone who may not be ready to take the plunge into the deep end of the pool with polish colors, this is the perfect shade to be a little edgy but neutral as well.

Saran Wrap Sunset

Fun title huh? lol. So last week in Pittsburgh there was an awesome sunset, pinks, purples, golds, blues, the list goes on and on with all the beautiful colors that were in the sky that night. I was inspired to do a mani once I got home from work and thought that the Saran Wrap technique would be a perfect way to represent the sky that night.

I already posted this mani on my personal FB page so I apologize if you have already seen it, but I wanted to  let me fellow Pittsbughers see it that night :)

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-China Glaze - Electric Beat
-OPI - I Think In Pink
-Spoiled - Shrimp On The Barbie
-OTD

Here's a pic that I captured on my way home from work:

There is no filter on the picture above. The sky was so vibrant, I was just really drawn to it's beauty. It's funny though because when I was picking out the polish colors for this mani I had bright pinks selected and thought, "no this is going to be too bright" but after I did the mani I was like "I didn't go bright enough!".

Either way, I really loved the look of this mani and felt like it fit the inspiration well. I hope that you enjoyed seeing a nature inspired mani and will try to take pictures of future inspirations to share with you moving forward.
