The Digit-al Dozen Does: Nature - Look 5
Happy Friday! As we come to a close on Nature week for The Digit-al Dozen, I think I really enjoyed coming up with looks for the week. I am closing out my week with nails inspired by Druzy Stones.
For this look I started with a textured blue base and sponged on a little bit of different blues and purples (although it's super hard to tell that I added any other colors); then I added this tan-ish color to the outside to represent the outside of the stone.
I am mixed on how it turned out, but I don't hate it, lol.
Check out how the other ladies are wrapping up their Nature week!

The Digit-al Dozen Does: Nature - Look 4
For today's look I turned to, what else, Pinterest for some Nature inspiration. I found THIS picture of the formations in Antelope Canyon, Arizona and decided to create a look inspired by it.
My look is a little bit of an abstract interpretation based off of the colors and texture of the rocks, and sort of has a similar vibe. I started with a nude base and used a mix of acrylic paints for the colored rocks. I really liked the feel that this look had when I was done.
Another fun thing when I was doing this was remembering how much I wanted to go on vacation to see the awesome landscapes across the States, we always say we will do sightseeing on our vacations and either never end up going on a vacation or going to the beach, lol. Maybe next year!
Let's see what the other ladies are doing today with their Nature looks!

The Digit-al Dozen Does: Nature - Look 3
I think that everyone this week was concerned with not doing a week of florals, myself included. However, today is going to be the obligatory floral mani for Nature week. lol.
I went really simple with this look, a white background, with a gold flake topper and the black flower pattern. It also sort of reminds me of a topographical pattern for some reason as well. I love classic black and white looks, so this one was right up my ally.
I wonder how many of the other ladies decided to rock a floral mani today? Check them out below :)

The Digit-al Dozen Does: Nature - Look 2
For my second "Nature" look I decided to do something space themed. My husband and I got into a bit of a debate if space counted as nature, but I think it does. If you look up nature pictures on Pinterest I am sure you will find pictures of space and galaxies, so if it's on Pinterest, it must be nature. :-P Plus, I just really like space.
I have to admit that I am pretty obsessed with this look. I have done space/galaxy manicures in the past, but this is one of my favorites. I love the colors that I used which is definitely why I like the look overall; it has the same depth, just like space does.
So, I must ask, do you think that Space falls into the Nature category?

The Digit-al Dozen Does: Nature - Look 1
Happy Monday! We are back with another week of The Digit-al Dozen and this month's theme is Nature! This theme should be interesting, I have some looks I love and some that I may try to re-do before the end of the week, so let's jump right in.
For my first look I decided to go all in with a green and leafy mani. This one was sort of inspired by the colors in the Nature Digit-al Dozen banner. This look is also perfect for March since it's green, it goes along perfectly with St. Patrick's Day too!
Let's see how the other ladies are kicking off Nature week :)

Twinsie Tuesday: Inspired by Nature
This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is Inspired by Nature. I wasn't 100% sure what to do for this theme, I had a couple ideas but nothing I was in love with, so I turned to the internet, and found this picture:
I liked how misty this nature scene was and the pink was definitely calling my name, so here is my look!
Polishes Used:
-OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls
-OPI - Don't Pretzel My Buttons
-OPI - Alpine Snow
-Acrylic Paints
My nails are for sure not an exact re-creation of the photo, but more of an "inspired by". For the most part I like how these turned out but there are some things I would change if I ever re-created them. I think for the most part that I need a thinner brush. The brush that I used for this look is the thinnest that I have and sometimes it still seems too thick.
Overally, I'm happy with this look and I hope you can all see my inspiration; make sure to see the other ladies "Inspired by Nature" looks:

Saran Wrap Sunset
Fun title huh? lol. So last week in Pittsburgh there was an awesome sunset, pinks, purples, golds, blues, the list goes on and on with all the beautiful colors that were in the sky that night. I was inspired to do a mani once I got home from work and thought that the Saran Wrap technique would be a perfect way to represent the sky that night.
I already posted this mani on my personal FB page so I apologize if you have already seen it, but I wanted to let me fellow Pittsbughers see it that night :)

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-China Glaze - Electric Beat
-OPI - I Think In Pink
-Spoiled - Shrimp On The Barbie
-OTD
Here's a pic that I captured on my way home from work:
There is no filter on the picture above. The sky was so vibrant, I was just really drawn to it's beauty. It's funny though because when I was picking out the polish colors for this mani I had bright pinks selected and thought, "no this is going to be too bright" but after I did the mani I was like "I didn't go bright enough!".
Either way, I really loved the look of this mani and felt like it fit the inspiration well. I hope that you enjoyed seeing a nature inspired mani and will try to take pictures of future inspirations to share with you moving forward.
