Let It Snow! Challenge - Winter Wonderland

This week's theme in Let It Snow! is Winter Wonderland. I am getting so sick of winter weather so I must admit I was uninspired, so I went with a simple wintery scene.

Here we go:

Polishes Used:
-Sally Hansen - White On
-Liquid Lacquer - A Calm Does Not Suit Me
-Konad - Green
-Konad - Black
-American Apparel - Raccoon
-BSP Plate

I decided to wear A Calm Does Not Suit Me with white undies this time and it has a really nice effect. The colors are wintery without having to have white snowflakes. The stamping was simple and reminded me of a scene with a little cottage in the woods.

Are yo still into the winter weather or are you ready for summer?

Let It Snow! Challenge - Hot Chocolate

Yay for the weekend! This week's theme in the Let It Snow! Challenge is "Hot Chocolate". Even though I haven't tried it since the 31 day challenge back in May, I knew I wanted to try a water marble for this theme.

It's not the best, and it has some bubbles but I see a definite improvement since my last attempt which was a hot mess. LOL.

Polishes Used:
-Sally Hansen - White On
-American Apparel - Raccoon
-Sinful Colors - Nirvana
-No Time

This mani reminds me of when you're swirling / mixing the cocoa and milk together to make the hot chocolate. Also, since it's February I added a little glittery heart sticker to stay in the Valentine's Day mood. Hot Chocolate is a good theme for today because it's been cold and snowy lately in Pittsburgh and Hot Chocolate is the perfect remedy!

So I clearly still have some issues with water marbling, so if anyone has any idea how to help avoid bubbles and any great tips for clean up, please let me know!!!

Check out what the other lovely ladies came up with for their Hot Chocolate themed nails!

Fall Into Autumn Challenge - Favorite Sweater

I love sweaters and cropped jackets for fall!!! I was really looking forward to this challenge because there are just so many fun sweaters out there!

I decided to use one of the sweaters that I bought this year as inspiration for this mani. It's super matchy matchy, but I am wearing the sweater/nail combo today.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Essie - Braziliant
-American Apparel - Make Up
-OTD

Here is the sweater that inspired my look, courtesy of Target :)

My mani isn't exactly dead on, almost has an opposite feel to it since I used the orange as the primary color. I had to laugh when I realized that I was using more ORANGE in this mani since just earlier this week, I mentioned that I was "oranged out". I wish I would have made sure to ensure the striping tape was completely applied so that my ring-finger was picture perfect.

Make sure to check out the other ladies' favorite sweater manis!

Adventures in Stamping - OMG! Invasion of the _____!

I wasn't able to participate in the AIS challenge last week due to the wedding, but this week I am back in action. This week's theme is "OMG! Invasion of the _____!" You get to choose what sort of invasion you're going to do. I was telling the hubby about this theme and we both thought immediately of the same thing; STINKBUGS! (gross, I know!)

If you live in the Northeast, US; chances are, you know what I am talking about. Over the last couple years stink bugs have been coming out of the woodwork and invading homes, cars, etc.

I don't have any stink bug stamps (and I don't think that I would like one either) but they can be so overpowering I just used a stamp with a bunch of oval dots in all shapes and sizes which is pretty much how stink bugs can be.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
-American Apparel - Racoon
-Avon - Touch of Taupe
-BM-211
-OTD

Even thinking is Stink Bugs grosses me out. But this mani is pretty cute and if I wasn't going out of town on a business trip tomorrow I would have kept it on for another day.

Here is a picture of stink bugs that I found online. This is about how many we get at our house, but some of my co-workers and friends get 10x this many!!!

Do you ever have any stink bug invasions? If not, you're lucky!!!

Fall Into Autumn Challenge - Football

This week's theme is "Football". It is going to be fun to see what all of the ladies come up with! Living in Pittsburgh, football = Steelers. Instead of doing something JUST black and gold, I did some generic nails too! I am sure there will be plenty more Steelers mani's this season.

I used a ton of different polishes for these so I am not going to list them out (bad blogger, I know). If you're not familiar with football or the Steelers, I will go through the nails.
Pointer - 50 Yard Line
Middle - Colors from the Steelers Logo
Ring - Football
Pinky - Black and Gold (and white); Steelers Colors

Thinking back I probably should have used more black in this mani, however, I still think it's really fun. I REALLY love the football nail and how the dimples look!

Make sure to check out the other ladies participating with their football nails!

American Apparel - Make Up

I recently acquired my first American Apparel nail polishes and I really like both of them. I got a darker brown and a light brown/tan color; today I am going to show you the lighter of the two; Make Up.

Polishes Used:
-Nailtiques - Formula 2 Plus
-American Apparel - Make Up
-OTD

This polish had a very nice application and was completely opaque in two coats. I don't have any colors like this in my collection and it's perfect for fall so I am sure you will be seeing it again.

Short post today; Happy Monday!
