Zoya Matte Velvet - Swatches & Review

Zoya is re-releasing their legendary Matte Velvet polishes and today I'll be sharing my pictures and thoughts with you.

I was excited when I saw that Zoya would be re-releasing these as I hadn't picked any up when they originally came out. Let's get started!

Loredana: A medium gunmetal grey, packed with silvery shimmer and a velvety MATTEVELVET finish. This shade gives the nails the appearance of brushed steel.

Posh: A medium cool-toned wine red with metallic red shimmer and a velvety MATTEVELVET finish. Impossibly sexy and glamorous, this matte red truly lives up to it's name.

Veruschka: A deep evergreen garnished with strong metallic shimmer in a velvety MATTEVELVET finish. One of this season's hottest colors in a trendy, matte finish.

Harlow: A rich, saturated rose plum packed with sparkling metallic shimmer in a velvety MATTEVELVET finish. A perfect choice for fall or winter that combines rich color with a lush matte finish.

Dovima: A smokey charcoal-black with strong silver shimmer and a velvety MATTEVELVET finish. This shine-free black is the must have shade for fall.

Savita: A bold, vibrant medium purple with strong red and gold shimmer with a velvety MATTEVELVET finish. A new take on the matte trend for fall/winter with a pop of bold color.

Aren't those bold jewel toned shades perfect for this season? I am wearing two coat of each shade without base or topcoat for this review. All of the shades had nice application as well.

Will you be picking up any of these shades for yourself? Which is your favorite?

Zoya Ultra Pixie Dust - Fall 2014

Happy Monday! Today I have the three lovely shades of the Zoya Ultra Pixie Dust for Fall 2014 Collection to share with you!

All swatches shown with two coats; no topcoat

Oswin: A true red textured Pixie Dust with crimson mega hex particles.

Arianna: A blue-toned red wine textured Pixie Dust with mega hex particles.

Noir: A deep, vampy plum textured Pixie Dust with red mega hex particles.

As you've probably seen online, Oswin does an amazing job of drying to the matte finish as described; Arianna and Noir but are super lovely shades but didn't dry to the same finish as expected. I have heard (although I can't personally confirm) that polishes from the stores and later batches have been reported to all be drying to the matte finish.

Here's a video from Zoya about how to best apply these Pixie Dust shades: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm5ZTEtYZmI&feature=youtu.be

Overall, these are all really pretty shades that would look gorgeous left in the matte / textured finish as well as topped with a nice coat of topcoat to create a super deep and squishy feel. The colors are perfect for Fall but also awesome to transition into the Holiday season as well.

NYC Fashion Queen Collection: Swatches & Review

Yesterday I shared with you the Press Release for the NYC New York Color Fashion Queen Collection and today I have swatches of 4 of those shades!

Royal Chic

Royal Chic is a nice rich creamy dark brown polish. This is two coats without topcoat. A perfect vampy brown for fall.

Queen of the City

Queen of the City is an awesome raspberry purple polish with an awesome shimmer; shades like this just scream "fall collection" to me. This is two coats without topcoat.

Fashion Queen

Fashion Queen is a super sparkly marigold golden glitter polish. This is two coats without topcoat, for a glitter I'm loving that this is completely opaque in just two coats!

Rule The City

Rule The City is a gray glitter polish with larger red glitters mixed in. This is ONE coat of Rule The City without topcoat and as you can see it's pretty much opaque; love one-coaters!

Don't forget that there are five other shades in this collection, so make sure that you check out your local stores to pick up these and the others!
