Twinsie Tuesday: Classic

This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is "Classic", I immediately thought of a classic plain red mani. I'm sure that some of the other girls thought of this too, so let's take a look at my mani first.

For this look, I simply used two coats of Essie Fishnet Stockings. The plain bold red of this along with my rounded nail shape feels very Classic to me. I think the best part of a Classic look is that it doesn't go out of style, and I know that plain red nails have been in style throughout the decades.

Let's see if any of the other ladies chose a Classic red mani for this week's theme.

Incoco Real Nail Polish Appliques - 2014 Pedicure Collection

You know that I love the Incoco Real Nail Polish Appliques, but did you know they make them for your toes too!?

From their press release, "Slip on sandals and a sundress: it's pedicure season, and the new 2014 pedicure nail polish applique collection by Incoco is hot! Treat your feet to pedi-perfect hues and effortless nail art in nine new color & design appliques that can be applied in mere minutes."

There are six color shades and 3 design looks! (*appliques for review)

Shades:
Spring Blossom: A delicate soft pink
Pucker Up: A punchy pink hot for summer
Color Me Pretty: A vibrant orchid shade
Coral Reef: A bright coral with gold shimmer*
Passion: A classic red perfect for every skin tone*
Red Velvet: A sultry, deep crimson

Designs:
Beauty Queen: A tribal motif in a raspberry hue
Hidden Gem: Featuring trendy watercolor triangles*
Camera Ready: A glitzy ikat print

I'll be sharing with you the Passion shade today.
Sharing smaller pictures today because I know that some people are uncomfortable with feet.

Day 1: These appliques were just as easy to apply on my toes as they were are on my nails. The color is nice and bright and I was easily able to find the correct sizes for all my tootsies.

Day 6: After a week of wearing sandals and heels, the appliques are still going strong. The color was still bright and the appliques were still shiny.

Day 7: Well, did I mention that Day 6 was the 4th of July? While trying to avoid the mass exodus from the fireworks downtown, I hopped over a concrete post and in doing so scrapped the heck out of my big toe and in turn, the applique. The rest of the appliques were OK but I couldn't be going around with a big scrape so I ended up taking the appliques off the night of the 7th.

Along those lines, the removal of the Pedicure Collection appliques was exactly the same as the finger nail appliques.

I can't wait to try out the other shades that I was sent!

Patriotic Mani featuring KB Shimmer Nail Decals

Well the USA didn't win their game yesterday in the World Cup so that's a bit disappointing however with Independence Day fast approaching, I have some Patriotic Nails to share with you!

For this look I used Rica White Out and applied the decals directly on top. They were REALLY easy to use, I mean, peel and place! This was a super easy look to create for a fun Patriotic mani! The red nails are OPI Mighty Bow (I love that color!)

These star decals come in a Stars and Stripes Set:

As mentioned with my last post, the instructions for the decals are simple:

Steps for Nails Vinyl Decals (Leave On Sticker)
1)       Apply nail polish and allow nails to dry. Wait longer then you think to assure no smudging occurs when decal is applied.
2)       Peel away vinyl decal from paper. Use a tweezers to help with small pieces.
3)       Place decal onto your nail in desired location.
4)       Press decal firmly.
5)       Apply a clear top-coat to seal in the design.

Twinsie Tuesday: Skittles

First of all, I cannot believe that it is already July! This year is flying by; I hate that!

So anyway, this week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is Skittles. I went with a super simple look for this theme because I have to admit, I wasn't feeling very creative.

I went with all red shades to sort of get into the fourth of July spirit; I probably could have / should have gone with red, white and blue but, lol Oh well.

So I didn't do anything amazing with this look but I'm sure the other ladies did, so check them out!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Skittles - Week 3

For all of my fellow US readers, Happy Memorial Day!

For my third Nail Challenge Collaborative Skittles mani, I decided to do something patriotic for Memorial Day and go Red, White & Blue.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Red (I don't know the name because it was from a mini bottle -- they should really just put mini labels on those!)
-Orly - White Tips
-China Glaze - I Sea the Point

I am totally in love with this look! I love doing glitter placements like these; I had originally planned on just doing the glitters on the white nails, but I loved them so much that I added the glitters to the rest of my nails as well. In my mind, you can't go wrong with a patriotic look, and add in some glequins and well, you get this :)

What do you think of this look? Did you do any special manicures for Memorial Day?

Morgan Taylor: Casual Cool Collection - Spring 2014

I recently received the Morgan Taylor Casual Cool Collection.

This collection is a limited edition of six rad polishes inspired by the athletic wear, vivid pastels and bright hues that ruled the school in the 1990's. Morgan Taylor's Spring Collection is a fresh, wearable and undeniably cool take on 90's fashion.

All polishes are shown with two coats of color and topcoat

New School New: Fresh, sheer nude

Ahead of the Game: Trendy, soft pastel yellow shimmer

Varsity Jacket Blues: Cool, bright medium blue

New Kicks on the Block: Stylish pastel purple pink

Oh Snap, It's Silver!: Sassy, multi-dimensional silver metallic

Get Sporty with It: Vibrant coral red crème

Overall, I think that all of these polishes are perfect for spring, they are all right on trend, and it appears that New Kicks on the Block is Morgan Taylor's answer to the Pantone Radiant Orchid shade!

My favorites from the collection are obviously Ahead of the Game, since it's the perfect pearly creamy yellow, and Varsity Jacket Blues, because it's just such a pretty blue.

Pink & Red Dots

Are you looking for a simply mani for Valentine's Day? Well look no further! LOL. As you know I have been loving dotted mani's lately and this one is perfect for the season :)

Polishes Used:
-Dior - Rose Kimono
-Essie - Snap Happy

I started off with two coats of Rose Kimono; once that was dry I added the dots with Snap Happy. I added top coat on my pinky but noticed that the dots weren't exactly dry when it smeared so I quickly took the pictures and then finished top-coating the look.

This is a super simple look that anyone could create. Are you going to be doing anything special on your nails for the holiday?

Twinsie Tuesday: Red Nails for American Heart Month (Heart Disease Awareness)

Today's theme in Twinsie Tuesday is Red Nails for American Heart Month (Heart Disease Awareness). Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Find out more about Heart Disease from the American Heart Association.

Polishes Used:
-Essie - Fishnet Stockings
-DIFFERENTdimension - Scarlet & Gray Remix

This week, I decided to do something simple; a rich red base with a fun red, white and gray glitter topper. I loved the look of this mani and it was fun without being overwhelming. In case you are wondering, this is only one coat of DD; pretty much the perfect amount of glitter in one coat. In addition to being in support of Heart Disease a mani like this could also be great for Valentine's Day if you are looking for something simple with bling.

Don't forget to see how the other Twinsies are supporting American Heart Month!
