Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

Today I will be sharing my 3rd installment of the August Tri-Polish Challenge with you. If you have been following the first two manis of the month, you know I am not a fan of the color combo. HOWEVER, I love the look I did today!

I sponged the red, yellow and green over a white base, and topped it with black stamping from Plate Mash-39. I accidentally made my middle nail an accent nail by stamping upside down, but it doesn't bother me too much and I bet some of you hadn't even noticed. After this mani I am feeling much more enthused to create my final mani on Thursday.

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

Welcome to the second August Tri-Polish Challenge mani. I am still not a fan of the colors so I am feeling less than inspired. Therefore, I went with a simple look.

I used the yellow (Color Club - Almost Famous) and red (OPI - On Collins Ave) for this mani. I also added in a little bit of Sally Hansen - White On and a top coat of Northern Lights. What do you think of this mani? I still can't get on board with the color scheme.

Happy August Tri-Polish Challenge! This months colors are red, yellow and green. lol. NOT my favorite color combination, but I thought I would still give it a go :)

These are the colors that I decided to use this month, OPI - On Collins Ave, Color Club - Almost Famous and Revlon - Emerald.

For this first mani, I decided to go ahead and use all three colors in a brushed fan mani.

In addition to the three color choices, I used a base of OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls, then brushed on the colors with a fan brush and topped it all off with Out The Door. This was my first time trying this technique and I don't really think I did it right lol. The lines were a little thicker than I was hoping they would be and I don't really think the colors compliment each other that well. LOL. 

Overall, this reminds me of a little kids finger painting. haha.

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

Happy Final Day of the July Tri-Polish Challenge! I always run into road-blocks by the 4th challenge. LOL. Anyway, today since the colors lended themselves to it, I have decided to go with Galaxy Nails.

It's a very simple mani. I simply started with my darker blue, sponged on some white, green and lighter blue, added the white dots and topped it off with a coat of Northern Lights. :) Easy Peasy!

Do any of the other ladies participating in TPC have the same issue of running out of ideas by day 4? The one thing that helps is seeing all the other pretty mani's that the lovely ladies have done and using those for inspiration. Make sure you check them out!

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

Today I am back with Day 3 of the July Tri-Polish Challenge. I am trying out a really simple tape mani that I have been wanting to try for a while now and this was the perfect opportunity.

I used my 3 TPC polishes plus My Boyfriend Scales Wall for the white on my ring finger. I had a little trouble "staying inside the lines" of the tape but it wasn't as bad as I had anticipated it to be so I will probably do more mani's like this in the future.

I was also interested to see what it looked like Matte, so here are those pictures too!

I can't decide which version of this I like better. I enjoyed wearing it shiny but I think matte looks good in the photos. Which version do prefer?

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

Today I have my second mani in the July Tri-Polish Challenge. I decided to stick with my two blues for this mani, and went with a good old blue leopard design :)

The design started off as blue leopard but the more that I looked at them it started to see a blue frog!

See? I told you, lol. Anyway, this was a nice simple easy design I love how the two blues look together.

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

Yes! Finally back on track and able to participate in the July Tri-Polish Challenge. This month's colors are Blue, Blue and Green. I knew exactly what shades I was going to use, my trusty go to shades.

R-L: Sally Hansen - Parrot, Sally Hansen - Pacific Blue, Finger Paints - Blue Raspberry Taffy

I seriously seem to gravitate to these shades for nail art challenges because they are all nice opaque creams which is just what I want in a color challenge mani.

I also knew exactly what technique I wanted to try; something that has been huge lately, and you will probably see some other mani's inspired by.... Sammy's (The Nailasaurus)Waterfall mani! You can check out her tutorial HERE! Mine isn't exactly the same but I am pretty happy with it!

This is such an easy mani to create and a really fun look. I simply used a nail art brush and added the stripes. In addition to my blues and green that you saw above, I also used it over a white base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and added some silver glittery lines with Kiss Silver Glitter.

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

Today is the fourth and final mani in April's Tri-Polish Challenge. I will be back with more Tri-Polish mani's during the 3rd and 4th weeks of May!

I hadn't used glitter at all in this month's challenge so I decided to add a glitter accent for this final look :)

For this final mani, I decided to use my pink and orange shades to do a saran wrap technique and added a coat of silver glitter for an accent nail. I love doing saran wrap mani's because they are SOOO easy to do and there is no right or wrong!

Today I have the third installment of the April Tri-Polish Challenge :)

For this creation, I used all three of the shades in a gradient and added some black accents. I don't really love the gradient here; probably because of the colors, but that's ok; it is something different.

P.S. Today is my dad's 60th Birthday! Here is a nice photo of the two of us from summer :)
