Candii Blossom Cosmetics - Summer's End

Today I will be sharing with you Summer's End, that I won from Candii Blossom Cosmetics.

For these swatches I am wearing 2 coats of Summer's End. It is a lovely fushia jelly polish with pink shimmer and glitters in white and dark pink. It also has black stars in it. The application wasn't bad although it was a tad on the thicker side, it self leveled.

This goes along great with BCA month since its fun and pink :)

Falling For Nail Art Challenge - Bobbing For Apples

I can't believe we are already into our first October post in the Falling For Nail Art Challenge! Today's theme is Bobbing For Apples.

Here is my look!

This was only my second time doing freehand apples (you can see my first attempt here) honestly, the first time looks pretty similar except that I have better photography skills now. I can't believe those nails are from a year ago (I sort of wish my freehand skills would have improved more by now but I know I don't do it enough). I did these nails on a dark background for 2 reasons in case you were wondering. 1. I wanted it to be like apples in water and 2. the Essie has Bobbing in the title, so um yeah, perfect. lol.

Falling For Nail Art Challenge: Crunchy Leaves

Today's theme in the Falling For Nail Art Challenge, is Crunchy Leaves.

I decided to go through my stamping plates and found one with leaves, so I knew it was a perfect combination. There is really no way that I can freehand leaves because I really suck at free-hand lol.

-Konad - Yellow
-DIFFERENTdimension - Nessie's Revenge
-Bundle Monster Plate - BM-H11
-Pueen Plate - Pueen12
-Glisten & Glow - HK Girl Topcoat

I was excited that I had an opportunity to use this stamping plate. I had had issues with other BMH plates stamping but this one worked perfectly. I stamped the image using both white and yellow. Next, I topped it with Pueen 12 in Nessie's Revenge. It's a leaf image as well but the green is really sheer so it sort of just added a different dimension (no pun intended) to the look.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Technique Month - Week 4

Happy Thursday!! I am getting my final September mani in a day early; whoohoo! It is sort of like a Friday for me at work because tomorrow we are going to be participating in the United Way's Day of Caring. (You can read a little more about my site from last year here; tomorrow I will be going to the same site).

For this last Technique mani I tried to do a design that I have never done before, IKAT!

What do you think? I am pretty pleased with it for my first attempt. I will definitely be trying it again. I started with a base of OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips and used acrylic paints for the black, white and green. I topped everything off with a coat of Glisten & Glow HK Girl. I really love the color combination that I chose for this look as well.

Have you tried this print / technique before? Any tips for newbies like me?

Falling For Nail Art Challenge: Early Sunsets

Today I am back with my second mani in the Falling For Nail Art Challenge; Early Sunsets.

As you know, in the fall it starts to get darker a lot earlier. I hate it. Over the summer I had started exercising by going on walks/jogs in the evening and that time will be coming to a close with the new weather. Hopefully I will be motivated enough to go to the gym.

Anyway, here is my Early Sunset mani:

I went for the look of trees with their leaves starting to fall off silhouetted against the darkening skys. I hope you can see what I was going for here. I felt like Bob Ross while I was painting this one, hehe. (I used to watch his show all the time, lol, he made painting look so easy).

OPI - Muir Muir On The Wall

Over the weekend I decided to use my Ultra coupon and pick up a couple of polishes. One that I grabbed was Muir Muir On The Wall. I absolutely love this shade!!!

Vampy colors are perfect for fall and now that it is officially fall, I can start wearing them all the time!!

I am wearing two coats of MMOTW here. I love all the different shimmers in this shade, it looks black, brown, burgundy, purple, gold. lol. Just gorgeous for the season. I plan on wearing this to work a lot this season!

Did you pick up any of the shades from the San Francisco Collection? I only have this one so far but may be heading back to the store to grab a couple more.

Plump and Polished - Falling For Nail Art Challenge

I don't think that I previously mentioned it, but the cat is out of the bag, I am going to be participating in another nail art challenge, Falling For Nail Art Challenge, being hosted by Ashley of Plump and Polished!

Today's theme is Back To School. I was inspired by school uniforms for my mani.

Plaid is often found in school uniforms and I was inspired to use primary colors for this design as that is also very "back to school". I added some glequins to this look as well to bling it up a bit. Overall now that I look back at it, I may have done something different, like half moons with plaid and then make a white collar or something, lol, but that's a bit creative for my skills haha.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Technique Month - Week 3

TGIF!!! This week has been super busy at work and I loved and hated it. lol, so this weekend is very welcome. The technique that I decided to try for my 3rd Technique this month is.... FRAMED NAILS!

-OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls
-LA Colors - Gold Glitter
-Glisten & Glow - HK Girl Topcoat

This is a super simple look but it was actually the first time that I tried framed nails. I was inspired by this look from Cristina over at Let Them Have Polish. I used a different set of colors but the theme is very similar. I wore these to work and actually got a ton of compliments. It is something so simple and easy but elegant with the plain colors and glittery outline.

What do you think? Have you tried this technique? I feel like my techniques have been sort of lame/easy and I had wanted to try to push myself to do more freehand nail art with this theme but it just wasn't happening, maybe next week!

Seche Nail Color - Versatile & Happy, As Is

Today I have two lovely shades to share with you from the Seche Nail Color Clever & Confident Fall 2013 Collection. These are my first Seche color polishes and I am confident they won't be my last.

First up, Versatile:

This is an amazing green shade of polish! It was completely opaque in one coat (although I couldn't leave just one coat on, so I added a second). The application was great; not streaky at all and since this shade was so opaque, it will definitely be great for stamping! I topped it off with Glisten & Glow HK Girl topcoat.

Next up, Happy, As Is:

Happy, As Is is a great berry red shade. It was also mostly opaque in one coat, although I did feel it was better with two coats, just evened everything out. Even thought I used two coats, it is still opaque enough for nail art and stamping. I topped this off with Glisten & Glow HK Girl topcoat.
