Lazy Days of Summer - BBQ Fun

Today's post is my final post in the Lazy Days of Summer Challenge. I had so much fun working on this challenge with the other ladies, and loved that it was go at your own pace. We grill out a lot and I looked forward to BBQ Fun.

I wanted this mani to look like red hot fire under the grill. I started with Hazard and then when I added the crackle polish it spiced things up, and we all know how I feel about stripes - LOVE THEM! Do you like this mani? It was very simple but totally inspired by BBQ Fun.

Lazy Days of Summer - Something in your House

This challenge theme was "Inspried by something in your house". For me this was a tough one. I have lots of stuff in my house, but wasn't sure what I was going to do. So, long story short, I had my nails painted plain pink, was sitting watching TV looked down and noticed that the pink nails matched the pink of my beer label....so my nails were inspired by my favorite summertime beer, Penn Brewery Summer Berry.

I love how they have a pink sky and purple Pittsburgh skyline, which is what inspired my look.

Lazy Days of Summer - Summer Nights

I was thinking about Summer Nights for a while but wasn't exactly sure what to do, finally when I was on Stumbled Upon it hit me. Northern Lights! I have never gotten an opportunity to see Northern Lights in person, but I would love to. Hopefully I will be able to see them live one day. I used a bunch of different polishes and couple different techniques to try to recreate the effect that the lights were traveling across all of my nails. What do you think? Have you ever seen Northern Lights?

Lazy Days of Summer - Summer Days

Summer Days... lol... All I do with my summer days is work. Nothing fun anymore! Anyways, I decided to do a mani inspired by where I work. I threw the colors and a little ode to the logo in there too.

I consider this pretty much a nail fail. HAHA. I tried to do a sponging gradient but it looks disasterous and somehow got little peices of sponge on my nail. Oh well.

Any guesses on where I work based on the mani? It's a GLOBAL company so anyone could figure it out!!!

Lazy Days of Summer - Favorite Fruit

As we saw yesterday when I mentioned that my favorite drink was Diet Coke, I am not a very healthy eater. However, there are some fruits that I really enjoy (most actually). During the summertimes though, my husband and I always have apples and bananas in our house. Since I don''t have a banana stamp, I went with apples :)

Lazy Days of Summer - Thirst Quencher

I was having trouble deciding what to do for this post, my favorite drink is Diet Coke, although I wouldn't really consider that a summer thirst quencher and it's not very healthy for you. Anyway, as soon as I saw this post of Pshiiit, I knew I wanted to re-create this for the challenge. She has this filed under ice cream, but this immediately made me think of Pink Lemonade.

Mint Jelly Sandwich - Trust Me, it really is!

Today I am going to show you the Jelly Sandwich that I am wearing. The reason that I say to "trust me", is that the top layer is so sheer you can hardly tell that it's anything more than a topcoat. Here we go.

Polishes Used:
-Wet 'n Wild - I Need A Refresh-Mint
-Nicole - A Million Sparkles
-Revlon - Sheer Seafoam
-Out The Door - TopCoat

I have two coats of each of the polishes on with the exception of the Top Coat. What do you think? Of course I love this as I am in love with everything teal for the summer.

Now, onto a couple unrelated topics:

1. I am halfway done with the Lazy Days of Summer Challenge, so I am going to take a small break from that for a week or two. Just so you don't forget, here is the list of themes:

2. I recently got a SensatioNail gel kit for my birthday and have tried it out on other people, but not myself. I really want to though, so in the next couple of days I will probably do a gel mani on myself and will post about that and some other never before posted pictures and swatches to keep you all interested; hope you don't mind!

3. I am getting very close to 200 followers; I can't believe it! As I mentioned before I am going to have a giveaway for 200; one hot topic I see everywhere is to use Rafflecopter or not. Lazy Days of Summer - Dotting Tool Summer Fun

Today's challenge is Dotting Tool Summer Fun. I wanted to try a couple different simple dotting patterns, however my colors actually appear to be a little more fall themed, but that's OK.

Yep, fall color pallet. Oh well! My favorite thing to do with dotting is little flowers, but I feel like I do that pretty often so I am trying to do something a little different (for me at least).
