Morgan Taylor: Casual Cool Collection - Spring 2014

I recently received the Morgan Taylor Casual Cool Collection.

This collection is a limited edition of six rad polishes inspired by the athletic wear, vivid pastels and bright hues that ruled the school in the 1990's. Morgan Taylor's Spring Collection is a fresh, wearable and undeniably cool take on 90's fashion.

All polishes are shown with two coats of color and topcoat

New School New: Fresh, sheer nude

Ahead of the Game: Trendy, soft pastel yellow shimmer

Varsity Jacket Blues: Cool, bright medium blue

New Kicks on the Block: Stylish pastel purple pink

Oh Snap, It's Silver!: Sassy, multi-dimensional silver metallic

Get Sporty with It: Vibrant coral red crème

Overall, I think that all of these polishes are perfect for spring, they are all right on trend, and it appears that New Kicks on the Block is Morgan Taylor's answer to the Pantone Radiant Orchid shade!

My favorites from the collection are obviously Ahead of the Game, since it's the perfect pearly creamy yellow, and Varsity Jacket Blues, because it's just such a pretty blue.

OPI - Los Cabos Coral

Over the Christmas holiday I purchased a handful of polishes off of one of my friends, including OPI Los Cabos Coral.

I am wearing two coats of Los Cabos Coral with topcoat. It is a lovely pinkish coral shade with a shimmer. This is a pretty shade that I think would look good for both the spring and autumn seasons; and is also a nice shade for work if you can't wear anything too unusual. I believe that this shade came out in 2006 as part of the Mexico Collection. This polish isn't available anymore, but if you like it, keep an eye out for it on ebay, storenvy and blogsales! (I got this one from my friend on Storenvy)

Doctor Lacquer - Malicious Pleasure

I recently purchased a polish that I saw on Instagram, Doctor Lacquer - Malicious Pleasure.

Malicious Pleasure is described as, "MALICIOUS PLEASURE is a cold-sensitive cotton candy pink (warm) to salmon pink (cold) thermal linear holographic polish".

I am wearing two coats of color with topcoat in the pictures. So obviously I loved this shade when I saw it, it was pink and coral and light and would be perfect for work, so I had to have it.

To be honest I wasn't really sure what "cold-sensitive" vs "warm-sensitive" ment when it came to thermal, so luckily it was described on the Doctor Lacquer website. Warm-sensitive thermals in this collection have more drastic color change, while the cold-sensitive ones are more gradual. Warm-sensitives in general mean they will change color with body temp, and cold-sensitives mean they will need to be exposed to cold temps like icy water/freezing fingers to change. (Yay for learning something new everyday)

JulieG Gumdrop Week - Sugar Rush

Happy Monday!

Welcome back for Day 2 of JulieG Gumdrop Week! Today I will be sharing with you Sugar Rush, which is a lovely coral red orange polish.

I have on two coats of polish here and no topcoat. As with Hot Cinnamon, Sugar Rush had very easy application. I didn't have any issues with the texture moving around when you apply a second coat as I have seen with other textured polishes. It is a lovely color and it appears to be a favorite among bloggers.

Pahlish - Coney Island Queen Collection - Part 3

Finally, we have reached the end of my Pahlish Coney Island Queen Collection review. Today I will be showing you the last two polishes from the collection, "His Favorite Sundress" and "Anticipating and Pacing". These are the orange / red-coral polishes from the collection.

First up, the orange shade, His Favorite Sundress:

Shannon from Pahlish describes this shade as a "creamy pale coral base with gold shimmer and satin and metallic orange accents". This is such a pretty orange shade and unlike so many other oranges, doesn't remind me of halloween at all. I am wearing two coats of color, topped with Gelous and No Time.

Next Up we have Anticipating and Pacing:

Shannon describes this polish as a "creamy coral base with gold shimmer and royal blue accents". This is without a doubt one of my favorites of the collection. The shade is so gorgeous and unique! I have on two coats of color topped with Gelous and No Time.

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

Happy Tuesday Loves!

I recently joined the Crumpet's Nail Tarts, and they are just starting the Tri-Polish Challenge. Debbie does a great job of explaining the challenge in this post, but basically you have 3 colors that are your theme colors and use for 4 mani's a month. This month's colors are Coral, Green and Purple.

I had a really hard time choosing which 3 shades I wanted to use (since you have to stick with the same shades for all 4 manis) but eventually ended up with Fresh Paint - Pistachio (Green), Sinful Colors - Hazard (Coral), and Zoya - Lotus (Purple):

Here is today's challenge mani:

For this mani, I used all three colors from the challenge theme. Part of the fun of this challenge is that you don't need to use all 3 colors every time, only 2 so who knows what my next 3 manis will hold!

OPI - On Collins Ave

Today I am wearing OPI - On Collins Ave. My in-laws got me this pretty shade last Christmas but this is the first time that I am wearing it alone and in all of its glory.

Polishes Used:

I tried to do a fun bottle shot, as you can see, but that was a but of a fail. lol. This is such a pretty color. Its a vibrant reddish, orange, coral polish that is opaque in one coat. I have two coats on in the photos just to get a super smooth finish. 

I will be traveling on business for the rest of the week so I probably won't be able to get any posts in until the weekend. Don't miss me too much my lovelies!
