Nail Art for Nubs Link-Up

I hope everyone had a good weekend! I was out of town but got to spend time with my in-laws so that was a nice time and I know my husband had a great time seeing his family.

For today's Nail Art for Nubs Link-Up, I obviously did something inspired by St. Patty's Day. I am not Irish myself, but it is big in Pittsburgh with an all-day parade/party this past Saturday, of course I wasn't able to attend, but I saw lots of fun, and green, pictures!

Believe it or not, I don't really wear nail polish to work on a regular basis anymore, I usually only wear clear, but since it's St. Patty's Day, I decided to wear this mani so I went for something simple, that wasn't too flashy and wouldn't draw too much attention.

Josie was the perfect green polish, this had been in my un-trieds and it is probably my new favorite (move over Sally Hansen Parrot) because this is one coat. Yes, you read that right, ONE COAT!

Nail Art for Nubs Link-Up

Happy Monday! Turns out we didn't get all the snow that was being predicted, which was good, although it does mean no snow days (not that I get snow days at my job, but still lol).

For today's Nail Art for Nubs mani I created was based off of this set of false nails that I saw on Storenvy.

For this look I tried my freehand again at an Aztec/tribal look. As always I am never completely happy with my tribals, probably because I see such gorgeous looks by people like Wondrously Polished. Overall, I don't think that these are too bad and I do like the colors together.

Nail Art for Nubs Link-Up

First Monday in February? This calls for a Valentine's themed mani on my nubs. :)

For this look, I created a super girly and pretty Valentine's Day look! Now that I know how to do roses I plan to do them often, and what a better time to improve my skills than during the Valentine's Day season. I didn't want to do all roses though so I accented with these light green glequins. I really loved the look of this mani and got lots of compliments on it at work. Surprisingly, all the gentlemen that commented on it, liked the glequin nails more than the roses; lol.

Nail Art for Nubs Link-Up

First off, I want to say HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY to my little sister! You saw a lovely post last week with a picture of my pretty little sister and I so everyone should wish Elizabeth a great day :)

I'm finally back with another Nail Art for Nubs Link-Up. I hadn't participated for a couple weeks but have been meaning to get back into the flow of it. Here is the look that I created for this week.

 

 

Polishes Used:
-GOSH - With a Twist
-OPI - My Vampire is Buff
-OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls
-Konad - Black
-Cheeky Jumbo Plate 1 - Viva Mexico

For this look, I started with a base of With a Twist, then I sponged on some random splotches of My Vampire is Buff and My Boyfriend Scales Walls. After letting that dry, I added the stamping using the special Konad Black polish and Viva Mexico plate from Cheeky.

I like this look because it was super simple to create but the design of the stamp gives it a really unique look. I only wish I was better at stamping straight because my stamping always seems to come out a little diagonally. I didn't add any topcoat to this look because I sort of liked the half shiny half dull look without topcoat.

Nail Art For Nubs Link-Up

Since today is the last Nail Art for Nubs Link-Up before Christmas, I decided I had to do something festive!

-Cheeky Jumbo Plate 6 - Happy Holidays

This was a really fun mani to wear (I wore it last week to the office) and I got a lot of compliments from my co-workers. I really like stamping over a textured base because it almost seems to grab the image off the stamper better and really "holds" it on (if that makes sense?).

Nail Art for Nubs Link-Up

December has been a good month for Nail Art so far. Participating in a couple different challenges always is encouraging to do more than just swatches. Today I am participating with another Nail Art for Nubs Link-Up.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Elevation Polish - Exc. Proto Hovd Darkness
-OPI - Get Me Your Number
-OPI - Can't Let Go

For this look I did something fairly simple than can be adapted to any length of nails. I started with a base of the Elevation polish; once that was completely dry, I added 3 strips of striping tape and polished the bottom with Get Me Your Number and the top with Can't Let Go. If you have shorter nails you could add 2 strips of tape or even 1 and just leave it with two colors.

Nail Art For Nubs Link-Up

I know it's only been 4 weeks but I am glad that I'm sticking with the Nail Art for Nubs Link-up. I also know we were able to generate some interest from other short nailed ladies so you may be seeing even more manis in the link-ups soon!

-Kiss Marbleizing Polish & Pen Kit
-Out The Door

For this week's look I used another Kiss Nail Art Set; this time, the Marbleizing Polish & Pen Kit (you can check it out here), but you don't need the kit to create this look. All you need is 3 or 4 polishes of similar colors, the colors I used were all purple but adding pink or white or blue in this look would have looked really pretty as well. All you need to do it paint a base color, and while it's still wet add dabs of polish in the other colors and then use a toothpick or pin to swirl them together. I think I was pushing down too hard with the pen though because I sort of scrapped the bottom color off at points; however, once I added the top coat is easily smoothed everything out!

Nail Art for Nubs Link-Up

Happy Monday! (haha; I hate Mondays)
Anyway, today I am doing something a little different for the Nail Art for Nubs Link-Up; I did the design on my friend Amanda's nails, she really does have little nubs so it was perfect.

-Sinful Colors - Hazard
-Sinful Colors - Nirvana
-Konad - White
-Bundle Monster - BM-H11
-Out The Door

For this look started with a  base of Hazard (Orange) and then added the brown (Nirvana) using the Saran Wrap Method. Once that was dry I stamped overtop of it all with this cute image from the Bundle Monster Holiday Collection. We both thought that these were perfect nails for the fall season. Sometimes people with short nails are worried that the full nail images on stamping plates won't look right, but as you can see here a design like this would look great on nails of all sizes!

Amanda is one of my co-workers and friends and recently she took a job with another company  (sad face for me, happy face for her) but I am hoping that she will be able to continue to come over to get together and to do more manis!

Happy Monday!!!

Today I'm back with my second installment in the Nail Art for Nubs link-up. Today I went with one of my favorite looks. This one is super simple, and would look good on both nubs and long nails too!

-OPI - Nail Envy
-Maybelline - Amethyst Ablaze
-Out The Door
-Rhinestones
-Gelous

I did a similar look here for the NCC Halloween Challenge and decided to do another mani, this time monotone with purple shades! I have used Amethyst Ablaze for stamping in the past but never as a base polish and I really like it. So for this look, I simply put the base color down, topped with Gelous and while the Gelous was still wet I added the rhinestones. Once they were secure I topped with a layer of out the door and there you have it :)

Have you tried this look before? I think you could add more or less rhinestones based on how long your nails are, don't you?

Nail Art For Nubs Link-Up

Happy Monday! Today I am taking a day off of work, a Staycation, so I'm happy!

I have decided to participate in a Link-Up with some other ladies from the BBC, Nail Art for Nubs. Leticia from Cosmetics Aficionado organized everything! Its a Link-Up with girls who have short nails and like to do nail art. Although some people may not consider my nails short because I have "longer nail beds" (so I hear) I still don't think I have long nails so I decided to participate!

I love doing stamping for nail art. There are full stamping images and small individual ones. I like the full nail images because if you have large or small nails they fit! For this look I started with the pink base, added the black stamping and used the silver dots to give it an extra little pop! I got a ton of compliments when I wore this look and I'm sure you would too!
