CH Nail - Glow In The Dark Polish Review

I was recently contacted by Born Pretty Store to do a product review. I was really excited about picking something from their site to review and with Halloween coming up, I thought it would be the perfect time to try my first glow in the dark polish. I choose a cool blue/green/teal one, which you can see here:

Since this was my first glow in the dark polish, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to wear it over-top of another color or on my natural nails so I opted for natural. As you can see - the nail polish goes on pretty much clear, there was a slight tint to it, but barely noticeable.

After I had held my nails by the light for 1-2 minutes I figured that they would be "charged" enough to glow, and boy was I right!

You will have to excuse the blurriness of the pictures, my shutter didn't want anything to do with the glow in the dark / non-flash pictures, however you can CLEARLY see that this does an awesome job of glowing in the dark.

Pro's:
-AWESOME glowing power!
-Clear polish allows you to wear this over any "regular" mani for a fun surprise
-Comes in 12 different colors, blues, pinks, greens, etc.
-Purchased from Born Pretty Store - so it was FREE SHIPPING

Con's:
-Not sure if this polish is 3Free
-Seemed to want to soak up my OTD topcoat; however, since this is my first glow in the dark, perhaps that is just how they are all formulated?

Overall, I think this is sooo fun and will definitely be wearing this to my Halloween Party!

Born Pretty Store, has tons of accessories and supplies for all your nail art needs; and in addition to their always free shipping, they are giving my lovely readers 10% off all orders with the following coupon code, so make sure to check it out!

This polish was provided by BPS for my honest review. The opinions are solely my own.

Fall Into Autumn Challenge - Football

This week's theme is "Football". It is going to be fun to see what all of the ladies come up with! Living in Pittsburgh, football = Steelers. Instead of doing something JUST black and gold, I did some generic nails too! I am sure there will be plenty more Steelers mani's this season.

I used a ton of different polishes for these so I am not going to list them out (bad blogger, I know). If you're not familiar with football or the Steelers, I will go through the nails.
Pointer - 50 Yard Line
Middle - Colors from the Steelers Logo
Ring - Football
Pinky - Black and Gold (and white); Steelers Colors

Thinking back I probably should have used more black in this mani, however, I still think it's really fun. I REALLY love the football nail and how the dimples look!

Make sure to check out the other ladies participating with their football nails!

Claire's - Candy Shop

Moving right along trying out all the pretty polishes from Katee. In case you were wondering, I am trying them out in the order that I opened the packages in. Today's polish, is Candy Shop. This is supposed to be a dupe of DL Candy Shop and I love me some bargains (even though this was a gift it was something I would have bought myself!)

Polishes Used:
-Elmers Glue Base
-Claire's Candy Shop
-Gelous
-OTD

So, for some reason, I didn't feel like wearing something as a base color on this mani and I ended up with 3 coats of Candy Shop. It's very pretty but even with the Gelous and OTD it was still slightly bumpy to the touch - that was my fault though.

You will notice that I am trying the Elmer's Glue as a base again. It worked really well when I tried it earlier this week and wanted to give it a second shot. My only disappointment was that the day I removed the glitter, my pinky nail broke and I had to file it down to a nub. Not sure if it had anything to do with the glue or not, but guess we will see when I take this off.

Milani - Twinkle

In keeping with the glitter bombs, today I am wearing Milani - Twinkle. Unfortunately, it was cloudy when I took the pictures so they are all from the lightbox today.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Sinful Colors - Fiji
-Milani - Twinkle
-Gelous
-OTD

Isn't this polish so pretty?! I have two coats of Twinkle on over top of one coat of Fiji. Interestingly enough, even though this is "simple" I got a lot of compliments on it at work and everyone liked the Glitter Bomb-ness of it :) It is a lovely purple/blue glitter mix with TINY purple glitters and SMALL blue glitters.

This was my first Milani glitter - do you own any of their glitters? Which ones?

Pink Matte Reverse Glitter Gradient

Hello Lovelies!

Today I am showing you a pink matte reverse glitter gradient that I did a little bit ago. I really like the look of the reverse glitter gradients and they are so easy to do! Other people are fans too, I am even doing my future  Sister-In Law's nails for her wedding with one :) (P.S. - Can't wait Kristi!)

Polishes Used:
-Nailtiques - Formula 2 Plus
-Essie - Cascade Cool
-Spoiled - Jewelry Heist
-NYC - Matte Me Crazy

I love this look, it's so simple, delicate, pretty, etc. I absolutely LOVE the look of glitter over cremes and then mattifying the entire thing!

Do you like this look? Have you tried a reverse glitter gradient yet?

Venique - Twinkling Glitter

Today I am showing you Twinkling Glitter, by Venique, one of the polishes that I received from Katee. Twinkling Glitter is a big time GLITTER BOMB.

I was having some trouble capturing the AWESOME-NESS of this glitter so I took a couple outside shots too!

Polishes Used:
-Elmer's Glue (for the base, I will let you know how it goes for the glitter removal process)
-Sally Hansen - Celeb City (for the undies)
-Venique - Twinkling Glitter
-Gelous
-OTD

The outside pictures help show off the glitter of this polish but trust me, it is 20x more awesome in real life. Think, Lisa Frank....speaking of, I think I will try this over a hot pink next time and be SUPER girly. hehe.

Do any of you own this polish? Do you agree it's an awesome glitter bomb?

Butter London - Shag

Back to work, and back to swatching my new polishes! Today I am showing you my second Butter London Polish, "Shag".

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Button London - Shag
-OTD

Shag is a lovely bronze shimmer polish. I have on two coats and it is completely opaque. I am really loving these Butter London polishes because the application on both have been wonderful. This is a really nice color for fall and imagine I will be using it as a base in some more nail art in the next couple of months.

Do you own any Butter London polishes? What is your favorite? Are they any other "must haves" that I should get my hands on?

Update: After I wore this polish all day, my husband's cousin asked me if I could try a dark burgundy / maroon with silver tips, Shag is a little more bronze/red but I added silver tips to show her anyway. This isn't a style I would normally wear, but was glad to try it out for her.

Adventures In Stamping - Let Someone Else Choose

Sunday Funday!

This week's theme in AIS is Let Someone Else Choose the plate or image. I let my husband not only choose the plate & image but also the colors. He is a big Washington Redskins fan so he picked Redskins colors. lol. Men.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Finger Paints - Autumn Blaze
-Konad - Special Yellow
-OTD
-Plate BM-321

This isn't really a color/pattern/combo that I would have chose for myself. I would have done either pink ribbons over white or white ribbons over teal, etc. Anyway, I am not sure that my hubby loved this but he said it wasn't too bad - we were both a little disappointed that the yellow wasn't more opaque.

Still looks fun and I like supporting his team every now and then ;-)

I guess today, in addition to GO STEELERS, we have to say GO REDSKINS!
