Golden Oldie Thursday: Purple

Today's theme in the Golden Oldie Challenge is PURPLE!

I used to wear more purple than I do now, so I had a couple of polishes to choose from. Ultimately I sort of ran out of time so this look isn't exactly what I had imagined.

Polishes Used:
-Sally Hansen - Lacey Lilac
-China Glaze - Gothic Lolita
-Bonita - Purple
-China Glaze - Snow Globe

I never wear Snow Globe; in fact, this is probably the first time, and as you can see, my camera freaked out. LOL. I was really hoping that the purples would be more dramatic, but it looks like I only used two because the China Glaze and Bonita were too close in shades.

Summer Mani Challenge - Yellow Polka Dot Bikini

Happy Sunday!

I have decided to participate in another summer challenge with some of my fellow East Coast nail polish lovers :)

The first theme is Yellow Polka Dot Bikini:

Polishes Used:
-Bonita - Yellow
-Konad - White
-Northern Lights
-MASH-48

So this probably isn't exactly what your typical yellow polka dot bikini looks like but I wanted to do something a little different, fancier.

This is actaully the first time that I have worn this yellow as a base on any mani, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but it's not actually too bad.

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

Today is the fourth and final mani in April's Tri-Polish Challenge. I will be back with more Tri-Polish mani's during the 3rd and 4th weeks of May!

I hadn't used glitter at all in this month's challenge so I decided to add a glitter accent for this final look :)

For this final mani, I decided to use my pink and orange shades to do a saran wrap technique and added a coat of silver glitter for an accent nail. I love doing saran wrap mani's because they are SOOO easy to do and there is no right or wrong!

Today I have the third installment of the April Tri-Polish Challenge :)

For this creation, I used all three of the shades in a gradient and added some black accents. I don't really love the gradient here; probably because of the colors, but that's ok; it is something different.

P.S. Today is my dad's 60th Birthday! Here is a nice photo of the two of us from summer :)

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

It's the 3rd Thursday of April which means, Mani #2 of the Tri-Polish Challenge!

I'll jump right into the pictures:

Since I was a little disappointed how the pink appeared in Tuesday's mani, I decided to do a mani where we could see how pretty the pink polish actually is. I haven't used striping tape in a while so I knew I wanted to do that with a couple accent nails and the teal shade. This mani is soo simple but I just LOVE it!

Crumpet's Nail Tarts: Tri-Polish Challenge

Happy Tuesday! I am very excited that it's the time of the month for the Tri-Polish Challenge. The colors for April are Orange, Pink and Teal. I like all of these colors so I hope to have some fun mani's coming up.

This month I decided that I wanted all three of my polishes to be from the same brand  / collection so that they all sort of had the same finish to them, so here are the polishes I chose:

These Bonita polishes don't have names on them, so we will just call them orange, teal and pink; and here is my mani!

I went with a simple dotticure for the first April mani. I like how simple and bright this is, the only thing that I wish was a little different was the pink. It was hard to show up overtop of the orange. The pink is very pretty on it's own which you will get to see later this month.

Liquid Lacquer - Purple Haze

Today I will be sharing with you the last of my recent group of polishes from Liquid Lacquer.

This is Purple Haze, which is a nice clear base with purple,silver holo and white glitters in a couple shapes and sizes (I wish that I had their official descriptions because mine are really basic, lol)

-Liquid Lacquer - Purple Haze

-Gelous

-OTD

I knew that I had to pair this glitter with a nice full colored purple and this creamy Bonita was the perfect match. I only have 1 coat of glitter on in the pictures, but 2 could really make this combo pop. I adore how the last picture shows off all the dimensions of the purple and silver holo glitters :)

Lazy Days of Summer - Something in your House

This challenge theme was "Inspried by something in your house". For me this was a tough one. I have lots of stuff in my house, but wasn't sure what I was going to do. So, long story short, I had my nails painted plain pink, was sitting watching TV looked down and noticed that the pink nails matched the pink of my beer label....so my nails were inspired by my favorite summertime beer, Penn Brewery Summer Berry.

I love how they have a pink sky and purple Pittsburgh skyline, which is what inspired my look.

Sunday Sunburst

This summer has been uncharacteristically sunny in Pittsburgh, however, in the last two weeks it has been back to "normal" and raining a little here and there almost every day. It was good at first because our grass was brown and crunchy, but now I just want the sun back! So I brightened up my day with some "sunburst" nails.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Bonita - Orange
-Zoya - Pippa
-Out The Door - TopCoat

The pictures were taken afterwork so thats why there is a little tip wear on my pointer nail. I used my striping tape to make the sunburst effect on my accent fingers and it worked wonderfully. Using the striping tape seems to work much better for me than Scotch tape as it's not as sticky and doesn't take off any of the basecoat with it.

Mellow Yellow - Swatches for Krissy

On Wednesday at the 4th of July picnic that we went to, one of my girlfriends mentioned she saw a girl at the salon getting a fun summery yellow mani; so I thought that I would swatch my only 4 yellows for her. Now you get to see them too!

Polishes Used:
-Sinful Colors - Neon Melon (Pointer)
-Zoya - Pippa (Middle)
-China Glaze - Solar Power (Ring)
-Bonita - Yellow (Pinky)

I'm not a huge fan of yellow polishes on myself but I think that they look great on other people! And after looking at these nails, I clearly need a pale yellow polish - these are all sort of gold/orange yellows (with the exception of the Neon Melon). Do you like to wear yellow polish?
