The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Tea Party - Look 2

Happy Sunday! Earlier this weekend, I did my second Tea Party look; these are so fun, although with this look I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do, just started polishing and came up with this.

I went with a light and delicate color theme and lacey design  to represent a tea party! I wanted to do something a little different (for me) with this nude triangle with single rhinestone. It was fun and very subtle so  I liked that. It was inspired by some looks that I have seen Lisa of The Polish Playground do before and could picture her rocking a look like this.

Twinsie Tuesday: 3D Decor

This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is 3D Décor. I was really looking forward to this theme because I had really been wanting to try a jewel encrusted accent nail so I took this opportunity to do just that.

I really love this mani! It came out just how I was imagining in my head. I didn't want to take it off, but of course I did it first on a night that I needed to do a couple looks so I had to take it off right away. Sad Panda - but I saved all the jewels in a separate container so I could re-create this look when I had time to wear it. I'm also interested to see how well the jewels stay on during the average workday. The base color that I used for this look was OPI AmazON...AmazOFF and I think works great with the jewels.

I can't wait to see what the other ladies came up with for their 3D Décor looks, and I hope to see some other jewel encrusted accent nails out there!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Skittles - Week 1

The May theme for the ladies in the Nail Challenge Collaborative is SKITTLES. I don't wear skittles on a regular basis but it is fun when you're looking for something different every now and then!

Polishes Used:

When starting out with this look I didn't intend for it to become skittles, I was just going to have a nice simple cream mani. However, I then saw my chevron nail vinyl's, then I remembered the glitter polish that I purchased at 5below earlier in the year and the look turned into this.

My camera didn't want to capture the glitter in the first picture but hopefully you can see it in the rest of them. If not, I will be posting a video of this look on Instagram sometime today where you can see just how blingly it is!

Twinsie Tuesday: Tip Nail Art

Today's theme in Twinsie Tuesday's is Tip Nail Art. At first, I thought that this may be a good opportunity to try stamping tips and use all those images I never used. But then I realized, I can't stamp straight so I figured I better stick to something else, and I am glad I did, I love the look I created!

-Kiss - Beach Pink
-Yellow Rhinestones

I love how this look turned out! The tone on tone with the pinks and then the yellow accents, it's just fun and springy and pretty, in my opinion. I saw a similar look on Pinterest here and made it my own using the pinks (instead of traditional French) and the rhinestones (instead of glequins).

Golden Oldie Thursday: Green

I don't own too many older green polishes because I don't really wear green alone that much; so I picked up 3 old greens and used them all in one mani!

Polished Used:
-Fresh Paint - Pistachio
-Sally Hansen - Parrot
-Essence - Walk on the Wild Side

Let me start off by saying that this look reminds me a swamp with algae.

I started off with a base of Pistachio (the lightest green) and then randomly sponged on the other two shades. Once it was done I topped it with Out The Door to blend all the colors together. I decided to add a giant rhinestone to my accent nail, and the bling sort of reminds me of a beetle in a swamp. lol.

Crumpet's Nail Tarts Christmas Winter Challenge - Christmas Traditions

Today's theme is Christmas Traditions. I wasn't really sure what to do for this theme, but I ended up doing Presents. We always exchange presents on Christmas morning and I love getting gifts for my family.

Here is my look!

I am not 100% in love with this look (as I am horrible at freehanding curves) but it is not that bad and I think it's pretty clear what look I was going for.

On a side note, I can't wait until Christmas morning to give me family their gifts as I think I got them all presents that they will really like :)

Nail Art for Nubs Link-Up

Happy Monday!!!

Today I'm back with my second installment in the Nail Art for Nubs link-up. Today I went with one of my favorite looks. This one is super simple, and would look good on both nubs and long nails too!

-Maybelline - Amethyst Ablaze
-Out The Door
-Rhinestones
-Gelous

I did a similar look here for the NCC Halloween Challenge and decided to do another mani, this time monotone with purple shades! I have used Amethyst Ablaze for stamping in the past but never as a base polish and I really like it. So for this look, I simply put the base color down, topped with Gelous and while the Gelous was still wet I added the rhinestones. Once they were secure I topped with a layer of out the door and there you have it :)

Have you tried this look before? I think you could add more or less rhinestones based on how long your nails are, don't you?

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Halloween Month - Week 3

TGIF!!!

Are you getting excited for Halloween? I am not super excited but I don't mind all the candy that is around these days; hehe.

For the 3rd mani in the Nail Challenge Collaborative Halloween theme, I decided to do something inspired by pumpkins.

I really like this look. It doesn't scream Halloween but it is inspired by fall/Halloween colors and items. The day that I wore these nails to work I ended up going to our old corporate headquarters and got to see some people that I work with daily but not face to face and they all seemed to like my nails :) Love when I go places that I am not normally located at and new and different people can get excited. Also fun to learn that some of your colleagues are polish lovers themselves!

Breast Cancer Awareness Mani

As I am sure everyone is well aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I have not personally been effected by Breast Cancer in my immediate family but I do know a handful of people who have either been personally effected or had a family member battling breast cancer. I don't own the 2013 Breast Cancer duo from OPI but I do own last year's set, which I used on my middle, ring and pinky fingers. I absolutely love this look and I got a lot of compliments on it at work which was a great time to mention BCA; I wore this mani for a couple of days which is quite unusual for me, but I just didn't want to take it off.

Hopefully they find a cure for cancer soon!!!

I really think that these make a cute accent to any mani. I could picture them used with other nail decorations or as just a little something extra on a simple mani like I did.

Pros:

Cons:
-Larger than some of my other rhinestones
-If you don't add a topcoat once they are applied, they may not stay on the entire time of your mani

This is a really neat container because you simply remove the lid, pour in your favorite remover, put the lid back on and use. It's a pump top so you can just pick up your cotton ball and get to removing!

Pros:

-Although I used this for remover, you really could use it for any liquid

Cons:
-If you do nail art of use remover to clean up your nails, you have to keep a separate bottle or container with a different type of lid
