Handcrafted Nail Lacquer from Poison'd Lacquer

I recently was lucky enough to win a prize of a gift card to Poison'd Lacquer. I was excited to pick out some shades and try them out as I wasn't too familiar with this brand.

Green-Eyed Monster: a kelly green nail lacquer

Rise By Sin: a smokey plum nail lacquer

Both of these shades are shown with 3 coats of color and no topcoat. I love how they each have a shimmer and shine to make them each a little bit special. :)

Rica - Ecopolo 2014

Earlier this fall I created a striped tape look for a fall nail art challenge for one of my Facebook groups. The look "won" it it's category and so I was sent this awesome prize from Ricarda of Rica.

I think that this shade was included as part of a boxed collection that Rica collaborated on earlier this fall, if not this exact shade, one very similar. It's a lovely blurple thermal polish with glitters of all shapes, sizes and colors. I am always cold but in the pictures (and now that I have longer nails) you can sort of see the color shift; I look forward to trying out more thermals now that my nails are longer too.

What do you think of this shade? Loving it as much as I am?

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer - Carina

I recently was lucky enough to win an opportunity to create a custom polish with Julie of Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer. I was excited and slightly nervous about the opportunity. I am not super creative and usually stick to pretty standard color combinations, black and white, pink and green, etc. As you know I have been loving creams and shimmers lately so that's what I told Julie. I knew some things, like that I wanted something coral or pink and that it should include some shimmers, she gave me some ideas, listed my shimmer color options, and after a couple back and forths of shooting ideas around, we came up with Carina.

I am wearing two coats of Carina with topcoat in these pictures. This polish has such incredible shimmers in it and I was not able to do them justice. In the last picture I think you can see them the best. The pink base was just what I was looking for and the shimmers are purple and blue, they are so vibrant and pretty in the sun!

Are you wondering about the name Carina? Well, sticking to my non-creative juices I wasn't sure what I wanted the polish to be called, so Julie got me thinking, what are some things that I like outside of nail polish? Astronomy was one of the first things that came to mind, (any astronomy buffs see where I am going with this?) so, Carina is named after the Carina Nebula, which is sometimes described as the pink nebula as it radiates a pinkish glow.

OPI - Next Stop... The Bikini Zone

I recently won the OPI Brazil mini set from a giveaway, and today I'll be sharing with you Next Stop... The Bikini Zone. I actually wore this mani for a couple of days, which is rare, just because I really liked the color.

I am wearing two coats of color with topcoat. This shade has a little bit of everything, purple, duochrome, shimmers, etc. I had a hard time photographing it thought, my flash really gave it a gnarly look.

It feels weird that tomorrow is Easter and I haven't really done any Easter nails; but like I said, April has been somewhat crazy so I'm just trying to keep up with having posts :)

Twinsie Tuesday: Gifted Polish

 

It's that time again, Twinsie Tuesdays! Today's theme is Gifted Polish and I think that a polish I won counts as a gift right?

I recently won two polishes from Sweet Heart Polish as part of Miss Debbie Crumpet's big giveaway and so for this week, I decided to show you the second shade, Cotton Candy Fluff.

 

I am wearing two coats of Cotton Candy Fluff with top coat. This is a really pretty rich pink with blue specs. The official description from her Etsy shop is, "It is a pink shimmer polish with blue and purple micro flakes. This polish is best with 2 or 3 coats for an opaque polish.".

What do you think? I liked wearing this shade and actually wore it to my cousin's wedding shower over the weekend!

Eat Sleep Polish - À La Menthe

TGIF, am I right? I recently won a gorgeous polish from Eat Sleep Polish, À La Menthe and today I will be sharing my pictures!

From the East Sleep Polish Website: À La Menthe started as a custom, and because of its overwhelming love, it has been added to the standard collection! A very beautiful liner holographic polish, that is minty green (not grey). This is sure to catch they eye of bystanders in the sunlight.

So before I get into the pictures, just let me say that Caterina is just so sweet; you can tell that she is very passionate about her business, which is awesome.

It came in the most adorable little kitty polish sweater to keep the polish warm!!!

Do you see that house in the background? Yep, she made that house for the polish to live in! Of course I am somewhat blocking the opening but can you see the windows in the back? She probably put so much time into this, how amazing is that?! So anyway I accidentally heavy handed it when I was carrying it and knocked the roof slightly ajar; so now it's carefully placed on top of my Melmer for safe keeping with the polish.

So anyway, onto the actual polish! (it's about time, right?)

I am wearing two coats of À La Menthe with topcoat in the pictures; isn't this a gorgeous shade. Also, I really liked that the polish came with a wide brush, I am so spoiled, but I only want to use wide brushes these days.

Sweet Heart Polish - The Color of Hope

I recently won a prize from The Crumpet's recent giveaway and the prize that I selected was 2 polishes from Sweet Heart Polish. This was my first experience with Sweet Heart Polish and it was great!

Today I will be sharing with you one of the colors I picked, The Color of Hope.

I am wearing two coats of The Color of Hope, with topcoat. Cassandra of Sweet Heart Polish describes this shade as follows, The Color of Hope is a pink holographic polish with a red shimmer. The Color of Hope was created to bring awareness to breast cancer.

As you know I am a big fan of pink polishes and this shade was the perfect color to add to my work polish rotation. I love how soft and delicate a pink this is! Plus, when you purchase this polish $2.00 of the proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer - Monster's Tea at Tiffany's & Un Sueño Mágico

I recently won two pretty Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer polishes in @nailpolishtherapy's Instagram Giveaway. Clariza recently reached 1500 Instagram followers and decided to do something special to thank her followers. I was so excited to win because as soon as I saw the giveaway on Instagram, I knew I needed to add those shades to my collection, and I wasn't going to get the custom, Un Sueño Mágico, without winning!

Aren't these polishes gorgeous!!!!?!??! I mean, look at that macro, and even the Tiffany's is amazing on it's own.
