Girly-Girl Challenge - Day 2: Gimme That Bling

Hello Loves!! Today is Day 2 of the Girly Girl Challenge so that means "Gimme That Bling"! This is an exciting challenge and I like coming up with new designs to fit the different themes. Once again, here is the Girly Girl Challenge:

When I saw today was Bling I immediately thought of doing something silver / metallic, because what is more bling than that?! Here is what I came up with:

-Out The Door TopCoat
(and gemmies!!!)

It didn't come out exactly as I had hoped because the gems and the polish were too similiar in color; next time, I will probably use either a different polish or different colored gems. Which nails do you like better? The ones with the gem tips or just the gem accents? I think the accents because they are more subtle. Thoughts?

Girly-Girl Challenge - Day 1: Think Pink

Hello Loves! As I mentioned earlier this week I am participating in Lindsey's ( of Neverland Nail Blog) Girly-Girl Challenge. There is a handful of girls participating so make sure to check out their pages (listed below). Here's out it works; 2 mani's per week for 1 month. Most of the ladies will be posting on Tuesday's and Thursday's.

That's the challenge so you can get excited for what's to come! Day 1 is Think Pink. I was thinking on just doing a gradient with two colors but it turned into this:

-Petites (no color name - sort of a raspberry with a little metallic)

Like I mentioned I was just going to do a gradient with my raspberry and Better Together but it wasn't fun enough so I added the glitter too! Hope you enjoy!

Fun with Friends

Saturday Night I met up with some friends and we did mani's. I let them pick their colors since they would be "stuck" wearing them. LOL. Hopefully they liked them and end up keeping them on for a couple of days.

Carly's Nails:

Carly already had on a gold gel polish and didn't want to take it off so we just added some polka dot tips for a splash of color.

Becky's Nails:

Sorry about the first picture! I have no idea why it's sideways! Becky doesn't normally wear nail polish but she said that I could try anything that I wanted. I let her pick the colors so that they would work with her outfits, but I picked out the gradient design. I hadn't tried it before, but it was pretty easy with sponging - I will try this on my own nails soon.

Polka Dot Accents

This weekend, I went down to my mom's house to do her nails and catch up. She wanted something for St. Patrick's Day but I told her it was a smidge too early and I would do something more festive next week, so we compromised with some greens, pinks and purples. (She apologized in advance for her dry cuticles - she's so cute)

Galaxy Nails!!!!

For a while now I have been wanting to try Galaxy Nails but they seemed so complicated I was putting it off. I recently found this post by Emerald Sparkled and it re-newed my interest, so I tried it this morning. I watched a couple tutorials online and was suprised at how simple it actually is (I think because nothing needs to be exact, or straight lines, it's easier and less pressure lol) It's takes time and uses a handful of colors so I will post the pictures and then explain what I did.

-Out The Door Top Coat

And now, the final product!

I was sooo pleased with how this turned out and how simple it actually was. I started with two coats of the Midnight Madness, then sponged on the White, Solar Power, and Shrimp on the Barbie in random "nebula - like" shapes, then sponged additional Midnight Madness around the edges to give it a more "natural" look. Next, I dotted on some larger and smaller white "stars" using my dotting tool. Once that was dry I did one thin coat of Jewelry Heist to add more "stars" and shine and finished it off with my new top coat, Out The Door.

I am definitly going to keep this mani on for a while since it took some time to do and since it's so cute. Meeting up with some girlfriends tonight so I can't wait to get their feedback.
