Avon Suede Nail Enamel - Touch of Taupe

Sorry for the late post today! I wasn't able to get this scheduled last night because we went out with friends to watch the Steelers game.

Anyway, today I wore my second shade of the new Avon polishes that I got, Touch of Taupe!

-Avon - Touch of Taupe

Today I decided that I would try this polish with a base coat. When I wore it alone yesterday, it chipped very easily and sort of "flaked off", today it stayed on a little better but still chipped. I am not sure if it is something with the formula or just how it interacted with my nails. It wasn't too big of a deal for me since I change my polish everyday but if you wear one color for a couple days, you may run into chipping. 

Regardless, this is really great color polish for fall, and actually, the entire set is perfect for fall. I really love the suede finish of the polish and it had a nice smooth texture to the touch as well.

Avon Suede Nail Enamel - Platinum Beauty

Last week I ordered the Avon Suede Nail Enamel collection and yesterday it arrived. I was excited to try out these 6 polishes; so I started right away. Today I am wearing Platinum Beauty.

I didn't actually wear a base coat or top coat in these pictures because I wasn't sure what a topcoat would do to the suede effect of the polish. I really like this color a lot and although there were some visible brush strokes, they were minimal. I can't wait to try out the rest of these polishes and show them to you all.

Wedding Weekend

As you know, my Brother in Law got married this past weekend. This post will be semi-nail related and semi-wedding related. :) Going to show you some pictures from the weekend of my (husbands) family and some of the mani's that were worn over the weekend.

Fall Into Autumn Challenge - Autumn Leaves

Sorry for the late post with this past week's FIAC mani. I was out of town this past weekend at my brother-in-law's wedding. It was very nice and you will probably be seeing some pictures from that coming up soon :)

This weeks theme is Autumn Leaves. Living in Pennsylvania, I am lucky to experience the lovely changing leaves during the fall-time. Driving from western PA to eastern PA for the wedding, I saw a ton of fall foliage, so that was my inspiration. Here are some shots that my husband took for me while we were driving.

Since most of the trees we saw driving were dark green originally, I started with a dark green base of Last Chance. Next, I sponged on, Parrot, Nirvana, Cloud 9, On Collins Ave and Pull Over. Finally, I stamped on the leave pattern in the white, yellow, brown and red polishes. At first, I thought that I had ruined it with all the additional colored stamping instead of leaving it at white, but the more I look at it, the more I LOVE it!!

Essie - Antique Rose

Within the last year, the discount stores like Ross, TJ Maxx and Marshalls have been selling a lot more nail polish. This is wonderful for me since I am a drugstore brand sort of girl (only for the price). Anyway, I recently picked up a 3 pack of Essie at Ross Dress for Less, and today I am showing you Antique Rose.

Antique Rose is a really pretty polish. It isn't pink, or orange, or coral, its just a nice "rose" color I guess (although I usually think that rose is more pink than this). I really like this polish color for fall; it's not the vampy colors that I normally am drawn to in the fall so I think this was a great addition to my collection.
