What I Wore - Thanksgiving Edition with Incoco Real Nail Polish Appliques

Back to work for some of us today who had off for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Since I was away during the  holiday I wasn't sure if I would have time or access to do my nails at my in-laws so I decided to use Incoco Real Nail Polish Appliques. I wanted to wear a shade that would be good with any outfit and for any occasion so I obviously chose glitter!

The design I chose was Vanishing Act:

This is a lovely gold to silver glitter gradient shade. Since I saw a ton of people over the holidays I also happened to get a ton of compliments. I really loved wearing these nail polish appliques because there wasn't really any chipping and they matched with every outfit that I wore on the trip.

And just for fun; here is a silly shot of my husband and I  (and my sister-in law and cousin-in law too) Apparently Rob was the only one NOT ready for the picture lol.

Happy Thanksgiving with Orly - Rock It

Hope that everyone is having a Happy Thanksgiving. Since I already did a Harvest mani last week, I wasn't in the mood for doing another turkey themed mani so today I am showing you a very pretty shimmery red that fits with the season. (This is the nail polish that I was wearing yesterday, so don't mind the tip wear)

This is a very pretty shimmery red; in the bottle it has a orange shimmer as well, but that doesn't show up on the nail. I talked to some other girls about this and they said that the same thing happened to them. Weird. But still is still a very pretty color.

Fall Into Autumn Challenge - Harvest

This is the second to last theme of the Fall Into Autumn Challenge. Unfortunately I was not feeling this one at all. We discussed as a group and Harvest could be "Harvest" or "Thanksgiving". I was just having a hard time coming up with something I liked for this one.

Earlier this week I saw this tutorial on Peace Love & Polish. Turkeys! What a fun idea. I definitely don't like mine very much, but Heather's were super cute.

Lots of colors and a couple extra photos today to show off the combination of Last Chance with Boho Gold. If you remember the last time I wore Boho Gold, I wore it plain and it was not as "durochromatic" as I had hoped for, so I really like the effect it has over the dark green base.

Overall, not super happy with mani, a couple things I would change but was too lazy to.

Next week will be the last week of the Fall Into Autumn Challenge and the theme is "Fall Flair" which means anything goes! But until then, don't forget to check out the other ladies "Harvest" nails.

Previous Designs

Wanted to showcase some of my previous designs. Unfortunately I don't have the polish information for them since they are older :-( Hope you enjoy looking through these!!!

With this design I used a red/maroon base coat with a pink/silver sparkle for the tips / top half. The colors aren't really represented in the photo so the sparkle looks plain silver.

Here I have on a clear base coat, I was originally going to just do grey tips with a single black glitter line to separate but decided to try a grey ombre with numerous stripes instead.

I was seeing a lot of Leopard print nails online and wanted to try this for myself. The pattern looks complicated but it's actually super easy to do. I watched a video on YouTube and got some helpful tips. I'll try to explain it to you really quick. (Just a note - my mom let me use her as a Guinea Pig so the first photo with the brown leopard is of her nails and the second with the pink are mine) I started with a base coat in any color (brown for my mom, very light pink for me), next just put random spots of the inside leopard color (tan for my mom, hot pink for me) all over your nail. Once that is dry, outline the spots, some of the spots I outlined with a "C" and some were outlined with parathesis "( )". Finally, put a few extra tiny spots on any open spaces with the outline color, apply a top coat (Seche Vite) and you're finished :-) These were two of my favorite designs and both my mom and I got a lot of compliments on them.



Here I was just trying out a couple different colors. I probably should have cleaned this up a little around my nails before I took the picture.

I tried this design out after Thanksgiving. Wanted to do something simple but trendy. I used a mint green color and just threw on some random white polka dots. I got a lot of compliments on this design, it's very easy and anyone can do it!



Christmas Time!! Once again my mom offered to let me try out a Christmas design on her!! She picked out this cute reindeer. I had seen designs online with a reindeer on each nail, with one having a red nose for Rudolph but that was a little too flashy for my mom so we decided to go with one accent nail and a nice shimmery maroonish-red for the rest of the nails.

My mom was so happy with her nails that she offered to do mine ;-) (THANKS MOM!) We did Santa nails for me, and she did a great job. We both got lots of compliments on our Christmas designs and felt fun and festive.
