Swatch: Bonita - Pink

Today I am wearing the pink that came in my Bonita set.

Polishes Used:
-Nailtiques - Formula 2 Plus
-Bonita - Pink
-Out The Door - TopCoat

This is a nice dusty pink color. I have one 2 coats in the photos and if you look closely you can see a VNL. The polish applied well and was not very streaky. What is interesting though, is that this polish is much less bright in person, more of a dusty rose color, not so neon; my camera seems to LOVE neons and will bring out the brightness in all polishes!

Overall, I like this color, pink is always my go to color and this one doesn't disappoint.

Swatch: Bonita - Purple & Anniversary Announcement

Over the weekend I went to Ross Dress for Less and was able to pick up a couple fun polishes. I got 2 bottles of Essie's Coat Azure (one for me one for a friend) for only $2.99 each and then a 6 pack of polishes by Bonita. I have never heard of this brand, and it appears that they are not 3 free, but I got the pack for $4.99 so I thought I would give them a try.

I didn't see color names on the polish bottles or packaging but for the next couple of days I will be swatching them. Today's color is purple.

This is a nice creme purple and I actually do not own anything in a similar shade. I have on 2 coats and it is completely opaque. It was a little plain for summer on it's own so I added 2 coats of Sally Girl glitter for an accent nail.

Swatch: Sinful Colors - Neon Melon

We all know that neon's are super hot right now and I bought this color at the end of April when Walgreens was having the Sinful's on sale for $0.99 each. I was finally able to get around to swatching and using this color and how fun is it for spring/summer?!

It is bright and fun and I love it. When I wore this color out to Petco, even the girl at the checkout commented that she loved it and was a fan of neons for summer. I have two coats of color on in the photos and in person, I can still see a bit of a VNL. Some people suggest using your neons over white to really make them pop but I think this is bright enough on it's own. If I had to change 1 thing though about this polish, it would be the name, Neon Melon, sounds "orange" to me, as opposed to a bright yellow, but if that's my only complaint, it's not too bad.

OLD SCHOOL Water Decals

During May, one of my co-workers was cleaning out his house and found some water decals from a company that he used to work at. As you will be able to see from the photos, these are circa 1973 (in 1973 my mom was only in High School!). Anyway, I thought it was sweet that he brought these in for me and wanted to try them out right away (at work) which is why the photos are from my desk/iphone. I'll show you the pictures then explain a couple things.

OK, so the first picture is the "back" of the sheet of decals, it lists the instructions for use. It is fairly straight forward, soak in hot water for 10-15 seconds, slide off onto nails that have polish on them, pat dry with a tissue; add topcoat.

The second picture is the "front" of the sheet. The decals come in a handful of different sizes which allowed for use on all nail shapes/sizes.

The third picture is a photo of my nails with a coat of polish (it was in early May while I was in the midst of the challenge and forgot to write down the color - though I know it was one from the OPI Ballet mini set). The decals transfered great and lasted as long as I had on my polish (which was probably only 1 day, but still...) and it came off without any issues, just like "regular" polish.

The final picture of a photo of Amanda's nail. I asked if I could try one of her nail too, she didn't have any polish on at all as a base coat and I wanted to see if having a base coat really effected anything. Low and behold, a couple minutes after we were done and I had applied a topcoat we looked down and BAM, the decal had completly slid around and warped on her nail! It was a fun look, but didn't look anything like my nails, we were dying laughing about it.

I am pretty sure that you cannot get these decals anymore, and they probably aren't "healthy" for you since they were so old, not sure what ingredients were used to create them, but they were a fun way to add some accents to an otherwise super plain mani.

Swatch - AphroditeLaquers: RumRunner

Rum Runner is one of the Indie polishes that I purchased in May. I wore this to my first May wedding, and I loved everything about it.

This is 2 coats of RumRunner, Rebecca describes it as, a Berry colored jelly polish, with dark pink glitter, dark pink holo glitter, and tiny silver glitter/shimmer. You can visit her etsy store here!
