I love cuticle oils and I have recently started to amass a large collection of scented cuticle oil pens and so when Ricarda asked me to review her Heal + Fortify Cuticle Oil Pen, I obviously said yes.
During the winter months the weather can really take a tool on your nails and cuticles and over the past week we have been having weather that ranged from the single digits to 30's so I definitely needed the extra hydration this week.
Here is a picture of my naked nails and cuticles; in general they aren't horrible, but they could use a little hydration. (I'm not sure why my hands look so red... lol)
Before I show you the "after" pictures, this is what the cuticle oil pen looks like:
I like cuticle pens like this because you can simple twist and click out how much cuticle oil you want. You can really slather it on if you want, which I must admit I sort of like to do. I generally put the cuticle oil on right before going to bed so it can hydrate all night long so I don't mind a little extra oil on my nails.
Also, you can see that I chose the Applelicious scent. I LOVE apple flavored/scented products and this one did not disappoint. It is a stronger scent so if you're sensitive to that sort of stuff, Rica also has an unscented version, and with over 20 other scents to pick from, you will definitely find the scent that is perfect for you.
Now onto the "after" picture.
You can see how hydrated my nails and cuticles are in this picture. They immediately looked better than the dry "before" picture and they smelled good too. A little goes a long way with this pen, so you are definitely getting a lot for your money. Maybe one or two clicks per hand (or if you're like me and obsessed with really putting a lot on you can do one per nail :-P)
You can find the Rica Heal + Fortify Cuticle Oil Pen HERE, and it retails for $4.25.
