The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Around The World - Week 4

Happy Monday! Today I am back with my 4th and final Around the World mani, and I decided to do some free-hand acrylic nail art. I am not very good with my free-hand, and feel like everything looks like a child painted it, like a preschooler, but anyway, I jumped in and tried it anyway.

For this week's inspiration, I used my recent trip to Belgium (which was actually my first time in Europe as well!)

So yeah, not the best with the details but not horrible either I don't think? Practice makes perfect. Anyway, I threw in the last picture collage to explain what the pictures were/represented, but I will explain it here as well. Belgium is know for its world class Chocolate, and it's Beer; I tried a LOT of both during the short time I was there; both were delicious -> those represent my pointer and pinky finger, respectively. My middle finger is showcasing all of the old buildings that I saw when I was there. I was amazing how many old builds from like the 1300 / 1400's were still standing and in use! It's amazing considering the "Old" buildings in the US are from like the 1700's. Finally, I did a gradient with the colors of the Belgian flag on my ring finger.

What do you think? Do you understand my inspirations? And on another topic, have you worked with acrylic paints? If so, do you have any tips?

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Around The World - Week 3

TGIF!!! I am so glad it's Friday! One of my co-workers took a new job and this was our first week without her so it was a bit busier than usual. Oh well though, I would MUCH rather be super busy than bored.

This it the 3rd week for the Around The World theme in August NCC. For this mani I decided to do something Mexican inspired, with Sugar Skull Decals!

Polishes Used:
-Sally Hansen - White On
-Sally Hansen - Celeb City
-OPI - (the label came off so I'm not sure... )
-Out The Door

I have had these Sugar Skull decals since at least February and now I am finally getting around to using them! They worked like standard water decals and had easy application. I had a little bit of wrinkles but not really anything that you can tell once I added the topcoat!

Does this look Mexican at all to you? I know the pink and silver are a little girlie, but its girlie Mexican Sugar Skulls lol.

Make sure to check out what the other ladies did for their 3rd Around the World manis!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Around The World - Week 2

Happy Friday!

Today I am back with the second installment of the Around The World theme in the Nail Challenge Collaborative group. Last week's mani was inspired by France and today's mani is Asian themed!

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Big Apple Red
-Maybelline - Bold Gold
-Konad - White
-Konad - Black
-Bundle Monster Plate - BM-H15

I decided to get a little more creative this week (;-)) and the BM Holiday Plates were perfect for that. I used both the lantern and the mask images from the plate. I believe the plate is themed off of the Chinese New Year. I added the black, white, and gold dots to each of the nails to give it a little something extra.

Does this look Asian/Chinese New Year inspired to you? Make sure to check out where the other ladies are taking us with their second Around the World themed nails!!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents - Around The World - Week 1

TGIF!!!!

I am so glad it's Friday. My husband is feeling better after his Vertigo affliction and so we will finally be able to actually do things this weekend!

The August theme in the Nail Challenge Collaborative is Around The World. I voted for this theme but honestly don't think I am creative enough to think up four Around The World inspired mani's. LOL. Anyway, this one is sort of lame but it is also one of my go to looks; the FRENCH mani (get it? France? lol)

Polishes Used:
-Sally Hansen - White On
-Savvy - French Rose Opal Frost
-HK Girl Topcoat

So, I just now noticed as I was typing out my polishes used the the shimmery topcoat contains "FRENCH" too so there you go! I know I know, sort of lame, BUT, I really love wearing simple mani's like this to work and my co-workers always ask me if I got acrylics back on. haha.

I am sure the other ladies were much more creative, and I do have an idea brewing for next week's mani. In the meantime, check out what all the other participants did!
