OPI - Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ

Happy Thursday Loves!

Yesterday I ran to Target over lunch and thought I would check out their clearence section. "My" target only had one or two polishes in shades I wasn't really interested in, but the target by my work had a different selection (although still very limited) so I picked up the beauty, Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-OPI - Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ
-No Time

This polish is a lovely deep red, BBQ is a very good description for it actually. This polish had a nice creme finish; although one coat alone was somewhat streaky, two coats evened things out beautifully. This shade is definitely going to be one of my go-to vampy colors moving forward.

On a sidenote, I love how dark vampy colors look on shorter nails and my nails are currently a "shorter" length for me so I think this look is great! What do you think?

Sally Hansen - Celeb City

I felt like wearing something simple but flashy today, so I went with Sally Hansen - Celeb City.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Sally Hansen - Celeb City
-No Time

I have two coats of CC on in these photos. This is a fun polish that is completely opaque in two coats. I have tried stamping with this polish but unfortunately its not opaque enough on it's own to stamp with, but its a great polish to use in other nail art and wear alone like this.

We are halfway through the work week, hope it's going well for everyone!

OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls

Over the weekend I picked up a bottle of OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls, at my local Ulta on sale. And Score! I love this color :)

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Evy
-OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls
-No Time

The application of this polish was great, it applied smoothly and was completely opaque in two coats. I am pretty sure I'm like the last person to finally buy this polish but its a super pretty white/gray color. This is definitely going to be one of my new go-to colors.

Also, I am trying to switch up my photos and try my hand at bottle shots and a new watermark. What do you think? Your honest feedback is appreciated.

Hope all of you lovely readers are having a good week.

Born Pretty Store - Flocking Powder Review

I recently was given the opportunity to review some additional items from Born Pretty Store. Born Pretty Store is known for their Nail Art supplies but also carries a ton of other fun stuff at amazing prices.

The product that I decided to try out was their Fun Flocking Power in Sky Blue:
http://www.bornprettystore.com/flocking-powder-manicure-nail-nail-polish-blue-p-4476.html

Here are my photos of the product, it was just as described and safely packaged.

And here is the flocking powder on my nails!

I used the powder over-top of a teal base polish in-case I missed any spots with the powder. I put down some paper so I didn't get my work space messy and then placed the flocking powder on my tacky nails with the tweezers and then brushed off the excess. It left a nice fuzzy coat of powder on my nails. I didn't wear this very long but during the time I had it on, it was staying on well.

Pros:
-Super fun texture that you could use on all your nails or as an accent
-Comes in 14 awesome colors for all occasions (I think this would be very fun for girls at Easter time; I am pretty sure some of my cousins and my niece would love this!)
-Free Shipping on all orders from Born Pretty Store

Cons:
-Can be a little messy during application so just make sure you put a paper towel or something down before you use it

Born Pretty Store has generously continued to offer a 10% discount to all my lovely readers. With their free shipping and low prices, you can't beat that!

Spoiled - Steel The Show

Happy Sunday! This weekend is flying by! Today I am showing you Spoiled - Steel The Show. This is a very pretty neutral / gray / purple / tan color.

I haven't really tried a matte / shiny mani before, they have either been matte or shiny  not both. This was a first, it turned out OK.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Spoiled - Steel The Show
-NYC - Matte Me Crazy
-Wet 'n Wild - Top Coat

I don't love this, but it's OK. Somehow my Matte TC got a little dried up and was gloopy and not coming out of the bottle so that put me in bad spirits.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet, but as I mentioned before, my husband and I went to an Intro To Photography class yesterday as part of our Valentine's gift to each other. (Please note, that I didn't use any of my new skills for the above photos) My husband did play around with some of the techniques that we learned about in the class (ISO, Shutter Speed, White Balance, etc) and took this photo of my base coat when we got home. I love it and can't wait to play around with the camera a little more myself!

The one thing that the instructor keep re-iterating was that there is no right or wrong photos/settings. Change the ISO, change the Appeture, etc to that the photo that you want to take of the story you want to tell. I love when there is no right or wrong :)

Let It Snow! Challenge - Winter Ombre/Gradient

This week's theme in the Let It Snow! Challenge is Winter Ombre / Gradient. There are only 3 challenges left after this one and then we will start another fun challenge which is yet to be determined.

I decided to try my hand at another pretty gradient since my last one (you can see it here) had improvements :) I actually think my last gradient was better, although this time I had much better clean up work because I taped off my fingers first.

Polishes Used:
-Sally Hansen - White One
-Sally Hansen - Lacey Lilac
-Essie - Smooth Sailing
-Northern Lights

Overall I like this mani and the colors are soft for winter but not in a depressing and dreary way, which is what the weather has been like lately, lol. I am going to keep practicing with my gradients and hope to continue to see improvement.

Make sure to check out the other lovely ladies' Winter Ombre/Grandient looks!

OPI - On Collins Ave

Today I am wearing OPI - On Collins Ave. My in-laws got me this pretty shade last Christmas but this is the first time that I am wearing it alone and in all of its glory.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-OPI - On Collins Ave
-No Time

I tried to do a fun bottle shot, as you can see, but that was a but of a fail. lol. This is such a pretty color. Its a vibrant reddish, orange, coral polish that is opaque in one coat. I have two coats on in the photos just to get a super smooth finish.

I will be traveling on business for the rest of the week so I probably won't be able to get any posts in until the weekend. Don't miss me too much my lovelies!

Revlon - Popular

Hello Lovelies!

Today I am showing you a pretty polish that I have shown you before, here. This was one of the first polishes that I got when I *REALLY* got into polish a year ago.

Polishes Used:
-OPI - Nail Envy
-Revlon - Popular
-Gelous
-No Time

I'm wearing two coats of polish in the swatches. This is pretty polish and is perfect if you have a conservative workplace, luckily I don't but sometimes it's fun to tone things down.

This is short and sweet, but I hope that you are all having a good week <3

Let It Snow! Challenge - Winter Wonderland

This week's theme in Let It Snow! is Winter Wonderland. I am getting so sick of winter weather so I must admit I was uninspired, so I went with a simple wintery scene.

Here we go:

Polishes Used:
-Sally Hansen - White On
-Liquid Lacquer - A Calm Does Not Suit Me
-Konad - Green
-Konad - Black
-American Apparel - Raccoon
-BSP Plate

I decided to wear A Calm Does Not Suit Me with white undies this time and it has a really nice effect. The colors are wintery without having to have white snowflakes. The stamping was simple and reminded me of a scene with a little cottage in the woods.

Are yo still into the winter weather or are you ready for summer?

Make sure to check out the other Winter Wonderland Manis:
