Over the weekend I made a lightbox at home. I had seen a couple tutorials online on how to make one simple at home so I thought that I would try it. I used a cardboard box, white tissue paper, white posterboard, and a desk lamp :)
Here is a picture of the setup I have for my new lightbox in the basement.
And here are two test shots that I took in the box.
For the most part, I plan to use this when photographing my mani's in the future. What do you think? Any suggestions for improving my pictures in the future? Do you like my current pictures how I close up on the nails or do you prefer the nail photo above where you see hand and background too?
Sorry for no real new nail polish posts today, but make sure to enter my 200 Follower Giveaway.

It looks like your found a bulb with the right color temperature, I think that light box photos often give a weird looking skin.
ReplyDeleteIt's your blog - but personally I prefer photos cropped closer, less hand - more nails, easier to see it all - but that's just me, and how I like to do it :)
Maria, thats how I like to do mine too.
DeleteThanks for the feedback - I normally like to do the cropped photo and since it seems like people like that, I'm sticking to it :)
DeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of light bulb did you use?
ReplyDeleteI have been actually playing around with different backgrounds. I use scrap booking sheets with different colors and textures inside the light box. I love the look of black. It's like my hand is in space.
ReplyDeleteThats a neat idea to use different papers - i'll have to try that. Thanks!
DeleteI really need to make one of those. Test shots look great, not a lot of glare at all.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
